Complaint: I have a wells fargo financial gold card.  Last month I owed $1.94.  I was called by someone representing their company that offered a fixed rate of 8.90 if I would transfer a balance from another card or get a cash advance of at least $500.  I agreed to a cash advance for the minimum amount.  Not even one month later I received a notice saying that my fixed rate had been cancelled and now I would get a variable rate of 22.90.  Isn't that fraud???????  I have no way to know how to contest this, any suggestions?

Complaint:
My husband skipped out on our joint credit card and left me wiht the debt
Wells fargo said I could get my name removed if they contacted my ex, this was a lie. I gave them my ex's number who now lives in France and they asked him for money even though I was paying the debt.  They told me they would settle with me and then took it back.  They continued to tell me I could get my name off the card if my ex agreed and he did, but they never removed my name, they said it was not possible afterall. they made me pay late charges, even though I never got bills, and harrassed me over the phone, told me false information and tried to tell my ex lies about me then did the same with me about my ex.  I finally got a manager who said the person calling my ex was not allowed to remove my name (basically they were trying to collect from both of us and used this lie of getting my name removed to contact him.  I had a scary history with my ex and this made him angry and risked my safety. I was Paying the bills, yet they were harrassing him. It was immorral.  Now, I!
have an ex who knows where I live thanks to Wells Fargo, they lied to me several times, claiming they could remove my name, but did not do it===also by saying they would settle for a certain amount and then say they never said that.

Complaint: Took out a personal loan on one of their "Splash Card" accounts to purchase a large item. Payments were approximately $95 a month starting Sept 2008. I have made payments of $200 monthly since the first payment. I've already been charged a "Late Fee" of $39 because I didn't submit my payment before the due date. Even though, although I was approximately $400 ahead on my payments. Lately I've been getting Debt Collector calls even though I've paid over $2200 during the period that $1050 was due to them. It's their policy that extra money is not credited as a next payment. It just comes off the total but they MUST have their payment each month. It could be me but that stinks!! I wonder why nobody trusts these companies anymore?

Complaint_against: WELLS FARGO FINANCIAL

Complaint: I have had a difficult year and fell behind on my credit card with Wells Fargo Financial. My card ended up over limit and I made arrangements to bring below credit limit. I met all of my commitments and promises and was misled to believe that I Wells Fargo Financial understood the plight of the challenged consumer in a Recession. I was wrong. The moment I brought it below the credit limit e following things took place: 1. Payments Deducted from my bank account they DO NOT POST AND CHARGE ME INTEREST ON THESE PAYMENTS FOR ANOTHER 14 DAYS AFTER PAYMENT DATE. 2. Finance Charge was raised to 26% with no available programs now that I am below credit limit. 3. Finance Charges NOW trigger Over Limit Fees. 4. CUSTOMER SERVICE - No ability to help they are bound by 'THE ALL KNOWING SYSTEM' and in fact will talk to me as if I am less than because I am a High Risk card holder. Bottom line....DO NOT USE WELLS FARGO FINANCIAL FOR ANY LENDING NEEDS - THEY ARE EXPENSIVE, NON RESPONSIVENESS TO REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE AND WILL EXHAUST ALL PHONE NUMBER AND RELATIVE CONTACTS UNTIL THEY REACH YOU. TERRIBLE! JUST LIKE WELLS FARGO BANK - THEY SHOULD BE AVOIDED

Complaint: My name is Tin Giang, I have a credit card with Wells Fargo. This is a big Company. But credit card system work really bad and cheating on the customer. I really upset and need help or let they learn how to do business in the right way and fairly. Here's the story: My credit card previous balance is $2,505.00 I made a payment is $1,505.00 Current purchases is $ 70.22 Finance charge(19.85%) $ 30.74 My new balance is $1,100.96 You look on my statement breakdown above;you see the amount I owe only $1,000.00 of previous balance and $70.22 current purchase. Only $1,000.00 they should charge the interet rate 19.85% and howcome it comes up with $30.74. They can not charge the interet on $70.22 because I still have a circle to pay it.

Complaint_against: Wells Fargo and every other credit card company

Complaint: Just got my Wells Fargo bill today. Guess what? Another rate increase. I have always made my payments on time and used to pay more than the minimum amount due. This credit card started out at 8% and is now at 17.9%. They initially sent me the letter "you are pre approved" blah, blah, blah letter. 8% at the time I opened the credit card was a good rate but I never envisioned the credit card companies giving everyone the royal screw, if I had I would never have opened the account. I read the change to the terms agreement and Pat this will answer your question-their changes to this agreement read "We can change or add to any terms of your account at any time. For example, APR's may be changed to higher rates; if you have fixed APRs they may be changed to variable APRs". Now how do they make more money? They change your fixed APR to a variable and they're probably going to jack your interest rate too. I called Wells Fargo today and asked about the rate increase and was told I was sent a letter in October and I had until November to opt out (I never got the letter). I asked if I could have my interestat rate lowered because I have always made my payments on time and was told "they are not negotiating interest rates at this time, there is nothing I can do for you". I asked if there was anyone there who could help me, I was told no, we are not negotiating interest rates at this time-again, that was the only comment I could get from good ole Danielle at Wells Fargo. This is what I told her and I want all of America to know, I don't know how the executives of these companies sleep at night and I don't know how she works for such a terrible company. I say this after Chase raised my minimum monthly payment from 2% of the monthly balance to 5% on an account that I had a fixed rate of 2.9% (that was the only way they could get more money out of me). ALL credit card companies now are the devil-they are EVIL. They don't care if America is in a recession, that people have lost their jobs or have had their hours cut and have less income. They don't care that people are struggling to keep a roof over their head and food on the table. But I guarantee you that the executives at every credit card company in America eats at least three meals a day and have a very nice roof over their head and don't buy their clothes at a Goodwill Store . They are all a bunch of leeches. And my hope for every one of these low down money grubbers that only care about the almighty dollar which they seem to have plenty of at the expense of struggling Americans, is that when this recession is over, that every freaking one of them has to go out of bussiness. I would love to see them begging in the streets for food or in the soup line and I wouldn't mind bumping into them at my local Goodwill store. Stop using your credit cards, get them paid off as soon as you can and never use them again then tell the company to stick 'em where the sun don't shine. That's what I'm doing. They won't get one more cent than what I owe them now because I am never using their credit card again, I'll do without. And if you think any other credit card company is any different, you are wrong. They will not work with you, they will lie to you, they will raise your interest rate in a skinny minute; don't believe a word they tell you. I've seen this with my friend's, family and coworkers who are behind on their bills. They will harrass you night and day and yes, they will call you at work if they have the number. STAY AWAY FROM ALL CREDIT CARDS, let's put them out of business. Hindsight is 20/20. I realize now that when I opened these credit card accounts I sold my soul to the devil, their horns are in my butt and I am now at their mercy. They all got in all the increases they could before the new law takes effect which was too little too late. I am trying to get myself out of credit card hell and hope that all of you do too. Good Luck.

Complaint: Wells Fargo has done the usual credit card scams to me such as bouncing all my checks instead of the largest one. Sending me promotions for predatory lending scams like no interest for 6 months unless the payment was late, statements that are nearly unreadable. They claim they will dispute bills with vendors for you. AAmco caused my car to catch on fire but they paid them anyway. Another mechanic did an incomplete valve job. They paid him. Firestone has screwed up another car of mine they paid them. They would not give me a home loan despite my depositing my inheritance with them in an account Ive had for 20 years and a 760 credit rating. They pledged my mutual fund to a line of credit so that I could not get out of the fund when the banking crisis hit without paying off the LOC without telling me. Now I have found several double entries on my statement to the tune of 27k from an overdraft protection on a credit card of my deceased mothers that was not connected to my account in any way. They cant trace it without a subpeona because she is deceased. Curtis

Complaint: Yes yet another complaint about Well Fargo Financial I was given a Splash Card for a purchase Have been paying ahead Today I got a call from their collections. Seems like the due date was changed from the 15th to the 2nd and that the payments have now gone up 50 bucks The rep said that the payment amount went up, even though I was never notified. Said that the credit reform act required a higher percentage of the balance needed to be paid. I had paid over paid several payments throughout the year and made the usual payment on time and even early. They called because they say since the normal payment should have been now 50 bucks more they would have to charge me a 39 dollar late fee. Talk about absurd. I will never suggest anyone to use them I hope everyone reads this and it will be number one on the search engine lists when searching about wells fargo financial They Rippoff ripoff suck worst scam rip off poor wells fargo wellsfargo wellsfargofinancial wells fargo financial splashcard splash card scammers scamming scaming bad badcreditcard

Complaint: WFF is hitting me with a late fee....for paying EARLY!! Last month, i made the mistake of paying online one day before the statement cut off date. Apparently, when you do that, they apply it to the principal but the original payment 'due date' stands. Well, after calling customer service and getting a lecture on how 'the system' works they waived the late fee for the payment that was made early. Fast forward to this month, and it turns out that my new permanent due date is 3 weeks after my last payment of 3/25/2010 (still waiting on that statement by the way)...when I called I was told that my one courtesy late fee for the year had been used and that was just too bad. I escalated it to a 'manager' who was about as helpful as discussing this with a tree and did a wonderful job at evading pointed questions and sticking to the script of 'NO'. About every six month I get a call from the local WFF office trying to get me to sign on fora personal loan....I feel sorry for whoever makes the cold call this year hehe.

Complaint: Thinking about getting a Wells Fargo Financial Splash Card? You better do your homework and then some! That 0% interest for 6 months looks good but be sure to pay it off before the six months are up! My nightmare began with the purchase of a pellet stove from a retailer in my area. I purchased about $4300 worth of merchandise from them thinking that I would be able to pay off the balance or close to it in six months. Financial circumstances changed and that interest rate of an outrageous 23.99% turned my balance of $4300 into almost $4900 at the end of the six month period!! These unethical thieves are making almost $600 in interest on a $4300 principal balance! I recently transferred most of the balance to another card with the exception of $610 which was my second largest mistake! Apparently they state that they sent out a change in terms letter advising me that my minimum due would now be based on my highest billed balance if I did not opt out! I received my “opt out” letter in an envelope conveniently identical to my statement. I set it aside thinking it was just my statement. So, on a $610 balance my payments should be about $20 right??? WRONG!!! These thieves want $122.00 a month until the balance is paid off!! They will do nothing to reduce this amount and state that since I failed to opt out then I agreed to the terms! I strongly urge you boycott Wells Fargo like the plague. They will not think twice about ripping you off and I am proof of that!

Complaint: I don't understand this company. I have a credit card through Wells Fargo. Even when I pay my card by the date it's due, they still charge me a late fee because it wasn't the minimum balance. How can they do this? I don't always have the minimum balance available. But I still pay them. They are a total rip off. I have never had a cc company charge me a late fee for NOT being late. What? Any suggestions?

Complaint_against: Wells Fargo

Complaint: I have been a Wells Fargo customer since 2001. I have a checking and credit account with them. My APR on credit started at 0% intro then went to 5.9 today my APR is 22.5%. This is way to high for me so I have started to think more about other offers with lower APR's but I like(d) Wells Fargo so i thought "Let me give em a call". The first call was really short I asked about lowering my APR she said "emmm at this time I have nothing to offer you, can I offer you a debt consolidation program?" me " No thanks but why is it that you can't make me an offer right now?" she said! it was because of the wachovia merger and all the people haven't been carried over yet. I was thinking "what are they using paper files or something?" she said is that all and the call was ended. I know calling back and talking to a different person works sometimes so I called right back. So I asked the next lady "well these other offers I am getting are way better than what I have, Why is that? said she couldn't offer me a lower APR because "We didn't take the bailout. I mean I mean only our mortgage customers got the money so thats why other banks can give lower APR's because they got the bailout." I asked her why there offers were so much lower than my rate with Wells Fargo? She said because they want your business! I asked " You don't want my business?" She quickly recovered with warning me about there fine print. I was thinking that maybe I should have done that with these guys. Anyways her manager said she had no offer for me because the computer isn't giving her an offer. I asked her who sets the rate the computer or an actual person? She said the CEO sets the APR. I countered " The CEO looks at peoples accounts and sets the rate?" She told me that he has people who do that then quickly ended the call. It was kind of funny because they were upset that I had follow up questions and I stayed calm and even throughout the whole call. Another thing, the credit 800 number has no option on any menu to speak to a representative who have to just say speak to a representative. Very shady!
