Complaint:
Had a Wachovia Visa for about a year. Originally contracted at 7.99% APR.
Never missed a payment, never made a late payment - and generally paid twice
my minimum payment. Recieved my September statement and found that the
interest rate had increased to 22.4%. I called them to find out why.
Was told that because my balance had not gone down considerably, that they
had changed my interest rate. And offered to lower my rate to 17.99%.
The only reason that it had gone back up was because of a balance transfer,
and had never been over-the-limit. Guess my reward for being a good
customer is a knife in the back. |

Complaint_against: Wachovia
Complaint: Increased credit card interest rate from 9.99% to 24.9% despite
perfect credit, no late fees, same employment information, and same income.
This increased minimum payment from $530/mo. to $850/mo. all of which was
interest. When asked why they did this, they said, "It's the way it is!" |

applied for a credit card as a way to have overdraft protection for
my checking account which they hit for $35 ever time I am under by
even a penny. They denied me on the basis that I didn\'t have the
minimum of 6 other credit cards and years of history with them. What
kinds of morons grant credit only if people are in over their heads?
Wachovia can kiss my ass, I'll be closing this account real soon
