Complaint:
I received a call at 6:45 pm on 3/5 for my sister Archie from the World Financial Network National Bank. I was treated rudely and was hung up on. The caller did not ask for me to identify myself -- after hearing that my sister was not home -- one would expect to be asked 'When would be a good time to call?' Or to be asked me to identify myself Or at least hear -- 'Goodbye'. The caller hung up on me very rudely. (God forbid that I actually pay the bill!)

Not only did I become enraged and distracted from my work -- but I honestly do not feel such business practices are successful in achieving your business goals -- namely collections. A friendly conversation could have uncovered information or maybe could have secured payment. No one in our household has been rude or hostile -- and if anything, we are eager to resolved issues about balances.

Complaint:
While in college, I received credit cards from WFNNB for Express, Victoria's Secret and Structure.  I was shocked that they would give me them since I had no credit history.  I was a great credit card holder, always paying my bill on time for the first 5 years I had my account.  Late last year I was laid off and unable to pay all of my bills.  I have accounts with other creditors such as Sears and Discover card.  Those companies were willing to help me while I was unemployed by allowing me into hardship programs due to my situation.  I did not receive any offers like that for my WFNNB accounts.  Instead, I received harassing several times a day, even on Sundays.  Some of the representitives who called me told me to file bankruptcy, ask my family for money, etc.  Excuse me for choosing to pay my rent and car note with what little unemployment I got paid.  I had to eat too.  I would not recommend these cards to anyone. 

I started to work again a couple months back and decided to payoff my accounts.  They agreed to let me settle them for a little less than what I owed, so I agreed to do it.  They charged my bank account for the payments and I thought everything was ok.  Now, with in the past week, I have been getting harassing phone calls from a collection agency about the accounts I paid off.  Apparently, the woman handling my account didn't file the paperwork right and my accounts got sent to collections.  I have spent the better part of the past week trying to get this issue resolved.  I can't reach the woman handling my accounts, I have left several voicemails with her to no avail.  When I call and talk to other people at WFNNB, they transfer me to her voicemail.  It is frustrating to me because I decided to do the right thing and pay them off, but I am still getting harassed because of their mistake.  I would like to report them to someone, but am not sure who to report them to.  I wou!
ld appreciate if anyone could pass on any information to me about this.

Complaint:
It seemed American Home Furnishings without my knowledge sold my contract to WFNNB.Months went by without receiving a statment.Upon contacting WFNNB Iwas told my account was payed in full.That was about a year ago.A letter dated 08/14/04 came demanding full payment of $407.33.
The amount I had been told was payed in full.WHATS GOING ON WITH THIS MICKEY MOUSE financial instatution? Maybe small claims court is the answer.

Complaint:
I signed up for a store credit card for Lerners (now Ny & co.)in Jan. of '04. I made my first purchase to recieve the 10% off that very same day. A week later when I try to make a payment at the store they say that nothing was posted to my account. I call cs service they same the same thing and tell me to wait. 02/05/04 I call cs service to make a payment over the phone they still say I owe nothing.  So I ask for it in writting. After recieving my actually credit card in the mail, I go shopping with it, make payments in full.
    Then in May of 04 the company sends me a letter stateing that the first purchase I made was posted to another costumers account and they are so very sorry for the trouible I had to go through trying to make a payment, they say " Oh nothing will be transferred to your account due to our error.", they even give me a $25.00 gift certificate to use.
    My next billing statement shows that they charged me for the original purchase and after calling them up they state I have to pay the interest. After speaking with WFNNB, a crazy lady stated that the two letters sent by the company were mistakes and I need to pay the amount, but she will waive the interest. NOT SO. Every bill since then I have been charged interest.
    So I filed a compaint with the Attorney Generals office of NY and OH, the BBB, FTC, and the OCC.

Complaint: In order to improve my FICO score I am cancelling some of my credit card accounts.  My advisor tells me that having more than fifteen credit cards can be a negative thing.  I have three mail order catalogue accounts that are evidently under the auspecis of World Financial Network National Bank. I have been trying to reach this bank to cancel the cards but am unable to do so.  Does anyone know how to reach this bank??  Thank you - Patricia

Complaint: This is the most ridiculous credit card company out there.  I have their card for THe Limited and Express.  I have always paid my bill on time but every once and a while they don't get it on time since it has to go from Pennsylvania to Texas which takes up to a week.  They will then call and harass me as early as 7:30am on a Saturday or Sunday morning and have somehow gotten my cell phone number and have called me on it.  But then if you answer they are rude and when you tell them you have already mailed the payment they tell you that they recommend you pay them right now over the phone.  I'm like I don't think so and then they get pissy with you and on top of it to pay them over the phone I believe it's an additional $5.00? or I think maybe even more.  Why can't they set up a website where you can pay their bill or why can't tghe companies that use them as their creditors set something up through their store's website?  Also.....if all of these stores are owned a!
nd use the same CC Company....why can't there just be one card to use at all the Limited Co. stores (Express, Vicki Secret, Bath & Body, Structure, NY and Co....)  It makes me not want to shop these stores with so much un-needed BS from WFNNB.

I signed up for a Victoria's Secret/WFNNB card in order to get the pitched 10% off a purchase.  I received a statement and paid it off.  When I moved I sent a change of address notification to all my creditors, including WFNNB.  I received no other statements from them, and made no further purchases. 
Years pass and I decide to check my credit record.  To my surprise I find that WFNNB has tarred my record with a $271 bill that I 'failed to pay'.  When I disputed this, WFNNB farmed my contact details out to various shady third-party collection agencies.  I wrote them in May 2004 requesting evidence of what they purport I owe them.  It is now November and I have received nothing.  This is a non-responsive company that has a bad history of illicit fees and charges (look up the lawsuits against them in Florida).  Do not trust this company!

Complaint: I want to forewarn every one of the horrible business practices of WFNNB (World Financial Network National Bank). They are the bank that manages credit cards for such retail stores as Express, Victoria's Secret, and Ann Taylor etc... I think that it is appalling that these stores that seam to have excellent customer service would hire a company with such low end, disrespectful business practices. I always make my credit card payments on time, this month I was a few days late and immediately the calls started pouring in. Of course the call came up private and I don't answer the phone unless I know who it is or have some idea of what is about. They called, and I counted, 20 times over the week-end and 3 times the Monday after. Finally I pick it up and they ask, "Is (my first name) there?" Which is already rude not explaining who they are and why they are calling first. Once forcefully engaged in conversation I tried over and over to tell the gentleman on the phone t!
hat I had already sent a check and they should be getting it in a few days. He rudely persisted on getting an over the phone payment for a payment that wasn't do until the following month. I explained to him that I was unable to make that payment at this time but would do asap. This obviously wasn't good enough as he continued to harass me and when I told him I was out to dinner and it was very rude of him to keep me on the phone as I have already explained my situation to him and would get the payment (that wasn't do for another 25 days) to them as soon as I could. Finally I hung up as he would not relent. I called back to make a complaint I spoke to a woman who said she would fill out a complaint form and when I explained to her that the person that had just called me was rude and persistent to the point of harassment she calmly said, "That is what we are trained to do." I am appalled that such reputable retail stores such as Ann Taylor and Express would let such a rude an!
d utterly formidable company  run their credit card and that they would push this company upon their customers makes me not want to shop at these stores ever again.

Complaint: I am glad I am not the only one having problems with WFNNB. I had gotten a little behind on my payments with their clients due to certain situations. They would call me numerous times, but would never bother to leave a message. Then a couple of weeks ago, they sent me a letter saying if they did not receive a payment, they may be forced to contact a district attorney in my city. Well needless to say, I sent in my payment as instructed, which was only what I could afford at the time. Heaven forbid, you have other bills to pay besides them. Now two weeks later, they are calling again and telling me it is very important that I call them back. I thought they would be happy I was paying something to them. I, too, wish they have an online payment site. I would sure love to get them off my back once and for all.

Complaint:
I have been a loyal customer for Lane Bryant.  On one occasion, I missed a scheduled payment.  My balance at the time was $15.00.  WFNNB customer service called my house and harassed my husband. They gave them information on my account to which he is not a card holder.  They have no respect for privacy and confidentiality.  I was saddend to think that such unprofessionalism exists at a corporate level.

WFNNB , Lerners Layne Bryant. My wife purchased a coat from Lane Bryant. The bill was given to  a lerner's account by Lane Bryant. The Lerners account was closed in 1993 with a bankruptcy. It shows as closed on our credit histories. The bills were sent to an address that has been out of date since 1990. Then we recieved a call from WFNNB 's collections in 1992. We contacted Lane Bryant and they supposedly straightned it out with WFNNB.
A couple of months went by and the calls started all over again with interest being added to a late charge. The coat was paid for on the Lane Bryant account three years ago. The calls stopped for awhile. Now in 2004 and 2005. My wife recieves harrasing phone calls from the collections for WFNNB . The have threatened to ruin outr credit and legal action they have called at all hours and given me information on my wifes account, ( I have no interest in the account). They have offered to stop for a payment of $100. I have advised my wife to not pay. They told her they will take us to court. I told her to tell them fine, do it. I am legally deaf and they are so rude wheen I tried to explain that I cannot hear them. I believe that the companies and the bank involved should be put out of business. I cannot even get in touch with them on the internet If I could I would use relay services. I think that this is what they are afraid of , because if they talk to me online with a deaf !
relay sevice , I can print a transcript of what they say to use against them in court. My wife and I have a good record since the bankrupotcy and it is in jeapordy . I have even been called a deadbeat by the collection people.

Complaint:
Where do I begin.... This has been one hell of a nightmare.WFNNB has the worst business practices I have ever dealt with. This started a year ago when I received a statement from Chadwick's.  Not a problem. I ordered a few things and paid from them promptly.  Then there was a $700 charge to my account off of the net.  I received that bill 3 months after the fact. I called, stated I never ordered OR received this.  Months went by with no statement. Then the phone calls started.  I told them to send me a statement and I would check into the purchases. I never received the detailed statement, just a bill.  Six months ago, my husband lost his job due to injury.  I am supporting 2 small kids and the household and shelter, food and clothing are the priorities.  All financial responsibility falls on me.  I have been harrassed on my job, threatened by "Investagator ___"  saying that he had called corp office to supena them about my employement.  Funny thing to that is that I DON'T !
work for corp office.  I reminded him of the privacy act on dept collection and called my lawyer.  I offered to pay what I could because I am tired of trying to prove that I DO NOT have articles that I don't know what they are. I was told that was not good enough. They would NOT accept what I could pay.  I feel violated in every aspect of the word.  I have told everyone I know NOT to get one of those cards associated with that bank.  They have called my mother who is seventy years old ( nearest relative not living with you).  This has been horrible.  I hate to break it to them.. when it comes to my family vs WFNNB, guess who wins that battle?  NOT THAT BANK!!!

Complaint: I bought my wife's engagement ring through reeds jewelers. I applied and qualified for the credit card which covered only a portion of the final price, the rest was cash. Shortly after our engagement I was deployed overseas to Iraq. Now I have finally returned home, and thought I was up to date with the payments, however while the money was supposed to be automatically transfered from my personal bank account to the cards balance, it was not. The WFNNB recieved my automatic payments, however did not apply the money to my credit card balance. Now, almost a year la they call me almost 2 or 3 times a day. They seem to enjoy calling around dinner or early in the morning, especially on Sundays. I know the address of the phone number that shows up on my Caller ID, so I'll definitely have to drop in and say hi to Veronica my account manager. Hope you can read this Veronica, I know where you work. A federal ID will definitely get me past whatever  security guards your com!

I have been a loyal customer for Lane Bryant and Avenue,and used their credit cards that are backed up by WFNNB bank.  This bank is awful, and they harass me when I missed the payment for the first time, and always have paid on time.  Guess what?  They have no respect for any deaf people who can't use the phone.  They just keep calling and harassing for hearing people to answer and won't listen to them explaining they must use relay to reach a deaf person like me. They don't have customer service manners or have a respect to use relay or use their tty to contact their deaf customers.

I would give them a bad credit report and a bad customer services especially they discriminate against deaf people who cannot use the phone.  THey need to respect, and contact properly by using the relay, email provided or use their TDD user representative!!!!

Complaint: I just received a collection notice for a past due bill for the creditor WFNNB/New York & Company iao $137.26.  I've never had a department store card or credit card with them.  I have no idea why they are trying to collect money from me.  After reading all the complaints about them I'm afraid they are going to ruin my credit over a bogus bill!  If everyone keeps filing complaints about them why are they still in business?

Complaint: I received three letters in the mail from a company called Asset Acceptance LLC located at p.o. box 2036 Warren, MI  48090 they were writng me about an account from three WFNNB accounts - Victoria Secret, Express and New York & Company I have never had these account I called them to dispute them they replied these were accounts that posted on my credit report in 1993.  I replied this was fraud. Is there anything a consumer can do not to be harrassed with fraud account also if the account posted on my credit report in 1993 that would have ment that it was there for over 7 years there has to be a law to protect the consumer from something like this.  It's like serving a crime you did not comment and asked to do it again. Something has to be done and soon

TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE TRYING HONESTLY TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY IT IS BEST TO SENT IN A COMPLAINT TO THE OCC WHO HANDLES COMPLAINTS WITH BANKS. ( A.K.A THE FED'S) They helped me and found that all of the charges to be stupid and took care of all most everything. I didn't owe anyone a dime.OH YEAH THE PERSON TO TALK WITH AT WFNNB IS KASSY XXXXXXX . SHE CAN BE REACHED AT 1-800-675-XXXX. She's kinda slow, so if your iq is above 1 she may get confused by big words like " I".  To get them to stop calling you must write them a letter and request them to stop (that's the legal thing.) If the company doesn't stop calling you after recieving the letter then they get fined in the thousands per phone call. Don't give up, next time they call your house say your busy but you can call them back at theirs.  Good luck to all

WFNNB took over the Service Merchandise accounts here in Louisville, KY.  We paid a bill off back in 2001 and then we find out from our credit report, in 2004, there is a negative comment from them.  Now the bill has been paid off for 3 years.  How can they go back and report something BAD??? 
I think this company is only out to hurt people and get whatever they can from innocent people.  I think they show no professionalism, coothe, or care about people.  THe company needs to be put out of business.

Complaint:
I got a letter from RMS on 4/4/05 showing that I owed $380.61 for WFNNB/New York & Company.  I called RMS to find out what this is about.  It is from 1993!  Appartenly WFNNB/New York & Company show this debt.  I have never heard of them, nor did I have a credit card of any kind back in 1993.  I can't find anyone to help me with this problem, so I'm mailing off letters requesting proof.

When visiting in Conn. before Christmas, I made a purchase at an Avenue store in Bloomfield where the saleslady persuaded me to apply for their credit card in order to get a discount and 2 boxes of chocolates. A few weeks later the credit card arrived, and then I began getting bills for late charges with no explanation. In January after requesting the original bill twice I still had not received it so I cut up the card and returned it to them. Eventually I got the original invoice for $10.50 which I paid immediately, but my last bill amounted to $82.00 in late charges. I continue to get harassing phone calls and requests to pay by phone even though I have written explanations to the bank twice and tried to explain the situation to rude bank employees.

Complaint:
Been getting calls from WFNNB.  Seems my wife missed 1 payment and they started calling non-stop.  What makes matters worse it they have their computer call and then when you pick up either it hangs up on you or asks you to hold for someone.  In my state that is illegal but Tom at WFFNB who was on the phone one night said they are a National Bank and don't have to obey my state laws.  NOT TRUE.
Anyway, there are a couple of tactics to deal with people that call and are harassing and rude.  First, keep in mind their goal...they have to call X number of people per hour and have to collect X% of the balances they call on.  (These are some typical stats)  With that in mind, first, don't pay if you can't or don't want to.  Second, keep them on the line for as long as you can.  In fact, make it a game.  I did.  I told them flat out I was bored and wanted someone to talk to.  I answered their questions with questions, asked them unrelated questions, made nonsensical statements and even point blank told them what my goal was.  There is no requirements you take their crap or give them what they want to know.  However, if they get flustered they may screw up and violate your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act which also has some protections for you even if you are not the person they are wanting to talk to.
Lastly, if they do harass you or get very rude, make sure you get their name, employee number and business name.  Keep a log.  Also, feel free to e-mail their execs or call them at home and let them know who it was that was rude to you and that you are calling them at home because the company they manage felt it was ok to do so to you.  They can't kill you, they can't really even do much more than they are doing other than take you to court...which if you haven't paid and are not going to is probably where you are headed anyway.  They'll try to make you mad, try to make you feel guilty and claim you are a bad person.. try to get you to break down and cry and give in to their demands.  You have the power.. otherwise they wouldn't have called you to begin with.

I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM ASSET ACCEPTANCE LLC, TO MY MOTHER IN LAWS ADDRESS, STATING THAT I OWE FOR A SERVICE MERCHANDISE ACCOUNT THAT I HAVE NEVER OWNED. 
GET THIS!  THEY ARE OFFERING A DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR DEAL, THAT IF I PAY HALF, THEY WILL MATCH THE OTHER HALF, AND TAKE MY BALANCE TO $0.  WHAT A JOKE. MY HUSBAND THINKS THAT SOMEONE MAY HAVE STOLE MY IDENTITY, BUT AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS, I THINK IT MIGHT JUST BE THE DUMB BANK.

Complaint: I had a Victoria's Secret card that went to collections back in 2000 due to being laid off.  In 2003 I received a settlement offer.  I was working again at the time and trying to re-establish credit so I called in to accept the offer.  The agent was very nice and explained that it would be best for me to make the payment over the phone for an additional $5.  I made the payment and kept record of her name and her extension.  A year later I receive a letter from RMA demanding the balance on the settled account.  Also, around the same time I pulled my credit report and lo and behold they have put the balance on my credit report as a new account in collections.  I called WFNNB to try to get this straightened out and I was told to fax in my settlement letter (which I did hold on to) and that it would be straightened out and removed from my credit report.  I faxed in the requested information and called back to verify that it was received.  I was assured that it was rec!
eived and that they would straighten this out for me.  I gave them 30 days before I pulled my credit again and it was still showing on my cbr.  I called back and this time I had the pleasure of speaking with the rudest person I have ever spoken to on a business phone call (including the collectors that called when the account first went delinquent- they seemed like sesame street characters compared to this gem).  She basically told me that I had no rights to demand that they straighten out what they put on my credit report because I was a deadbeat (not in so many words).  I asked for a supervisor who upon hearing what I had to say about how horribly I was treated began to justify her treatment of me and basically told me that because I had an account go to collections and settled on it for less than the original balance that that is just way it is and I should expect to be treated any kind of way.  I wonder if she would feel that way if her mother or grandmother hit hard tim!

Complaint: This WFNNB bank has the laxest policies for new accounts that I have ever seen.  I had an identity theft which changed my address on the experian and opened a fraud account and then stole money from this account.  I had to go through alot of rigamarole and it isn't completely solved yet.  I filed a police report and informed this 'bank' that it was a fraudulent account.  I am pondering if I can sue this bank for it's abyssmal security practices or is it not worth it and just write alot of bad reviews about them.

Complaint: Im sorry for everyone's frustrations with any financial institution, but you do take a risk when applying and accepting any credit.  Unfortunately, other people are human too and very capable of making mistakes; however, this does not excuse rudeness on either side.  I have had an account with WFNNB for over 10 years and have always had remarkable service.  Infact, after the Hurricanes of 2004, I was contacted in writing by WFNNB advising that my interested would be suspended and any minimum monthly payment due could be skipped without penalty.  Although I did not accept their offer, it was reassuring to know they cared enough to offer any help !

Complaint: I have had an account with what used to be Lerner New York for over 35years and I have not really had any problems othere than the fact that I cannot make a payment online as I can with Lane Bryant which is with WFNNB also!!!! If I call to make a payment over the phone there is a charge incurred of either $5.00 or $15.00 I don't remember which one. I cannot understand why a bank that has so many company's going through them cannot set up a wesite for payments. I usually try to get to the store to make the payments so it's posted the same day however there are times I cannot make it there&I have recently had some medical problems that restrict me from driving. So if I cannot get there & I haven't given my payment at least a week in the mail I get a late charge incurred. I have read some of the other complaints and I see a lot of the same things as complaints. Please if you want to keep customers happy and shopping in your stores make it more accessable to them to m!ake payments.

Complaint:
I have had an Express and Lerner account for over 3 years.  I have never had a problem until recently. I almost had my balance paid off and had my account set up for automatic bill pay.
For some unknown reason Express decided to double the minimum required pay.  So my automatic payment was $5.00 short.
Needless to say I got a harassing phone call from Express saying that I don't pay my bills regardless of my explanation of auto-bill pay and having receipts for every transaction. 
I told the guy who called that I paid my bill on the 1st and it was due on the 10th.  His answer?  "Sometimes it takes longer than 10 days to process...you still didn't pay your bill"  COME ON!  I did so pay my bill!
I arranged a phone transfer so it would not affect my credit (still watching my credit report to make sure they are not lying) and asked that my account be closed immediately because obviously they are not listening when they insist I never paid my bill.
So I get transferred to this lady who stated that it wasn't because it wasn't paid on time but because they doubled the payment due, even though the account was almost at zero.
So then I get transferred again to someone else who said it will still count as an unpaid bill and go against my credit.  They then went on to say, and I quote "The minimum payment was $25.00 and you paid $25.00" So he just basically said that I paid it in full and I got mad and told the guy that he just verified that the amount was paid, why can't anyone give me a straight answer?  He said he was reading the wrong line on my account!
So, in a nutshell, I've heard three different stories about my account in less than 5 minutes.  I still don't know which is correct but becuase they insisted on jerking me around I closed $2000 worth of business.
NEVER opening a card with them again!  I'm not holding it against Express or Lerner, still great stores, just bad choice of vendor!

Complaint: This company keeps calling ON MY BUSINESS FAX LINE and asking for my daughter by first name.  They are extremely annoying and harrassing, calling about 15 to 20 times each day (judging by my caller ID).  They refuse to leave a phone number and will only give the company name and their first name.  I've gotten calls for the past month from several employees and have (1) politely asked them not to call again because it's a business fax line (2) told them that this phone number is a fax line and is on the DO NOT CALL lists for both federal and Pennsylvania purposes (to which they argue with me because they claim they are not telemarketers so it doesn't apply to them!) and finally, (3) screaming at them in the phone as loud as I possibly can that they are not to call my number again because it's my number, not my daughter's number.  Nothing seems to work.  I found their phone number (1-800-675-xxxx) on this website and I thank you very much.  I intend to call them at !their toll-free number every time they call me to use up many of their minutes.  I'm dealing with the same person listed in another post - KASSY XXXXXXXX.  I'm also reporting them to the BBB, the federal and state attorney generals' office and every other possible agency I can think of which takes reports about bad companies.  Hope everyone else does the same - let's give them a taste of their own medicine!

This has to be the worst managed bank in the world.  I received a call from WFNNB that my 'shop at home' payment was past due.
I do not or never had a 'shop at home' account.  When I acquired the address it was not my real address, then I know that this was an IDENTITY THEFT case.  After opening a case with the local police, and reporting to all 3 credit bureaus, this bank does not call anymore, NOR did they send me an affidavit to sigh and return.  WFNNB credit security practices most be abyssmal at best, because they just opened an account with my name and SS number but did not verify any other data like mothers maiden name or DOB etc.  There was another fraud account opened, but that company sent me an affidavit to sign (praise them it is Dell), but this hokey WFNNB sent me NOTHING.  Hopefully the police will contact them soon, but the police told me that there are a huge number of identity theft cases pending.

Complaint: I am making a complaint againt wfnnb.  I have never had an account with them to begin with.  Someone gave my number as a contact member.  I have asked these people not to call and they keep calling all hours of the day.  They are rude, they will hang up and they keep saying they are removing my phone number of their list but they keep on calling.  I have had my phone number over 20 years and I don't want to change.  Can anyone give me any advice on how to stop the calls?

I purchased clothing using the Express credit card.  It was only for 80 dollars.  It wasn't but 2 weeks after purchase that I started receiving calls for payment. Ever since then I received call constantly - sometimes twice in one day.  I was also in the middle of a huge move - i told them this and they proceeded to file against me on my credit.  Lovely!  Anyway I have made the payments but will never purchase with that credit card and it has been closed.  They harassed me to the point where when i saw their phone number - i didn't answer.  It was insane.  I was going to make the payment - send a bill (that's all they needed to do).  Anyway stay away from these idiots!

Complaint: People out there are right.WFNNB does not know how to balance the books.I have three accounts Lane Bryant/Spiegels/Kingsize Direct all through this bank.The companies send me bills which I faithfully pay each mth and now this bank is takeing money out of my account with no permission and not stateing which account this is for.These companies if they need the business really should have their own billing system.And you are right you can not contact them I've seen 3 different addresses for them no.Any one know how to e-mail them?

I am working on eliminating harassing letters from a company called Asset Acceptance, LLC in regards to a closed account that I settled over 5 years ago with WFNNB/Express.  I called WFNNB today, and they admitted to me that I owe them nothing, however in December of 04, they sold my account to Asset Acceptance, LLC who is now trying to get $400 out of me for the letters to stop.  I am waiting for a return call from a supervisor to explain to me why my account was sold to another collection agency when the account was settled 4 years prior.
So, if you want to get turned over to another collection agency when you don't owe Express any money and be continually harassed years down the road, get the Express credit card.  I guess that is the added benefit?

Complaint: I am glad I am not the only one who is receiving statement from this Asset Acceptence. On November 17th 2005, I received notice stating that I owe $340.00 with Lerner New york's name at the top. I was instantly frantic since I knew I did not have any otustanding debts with anyone so I immediatly thought I was a victim of Identity Theft. I argued back and forth saying I don't know anything about this and then learned that there was a charge of $39.00 placed on my Lerner New York card in December of 1991. This company has since added their own fees and interest bringing the total to $340.00 (This is illigal). I can not even verify the charge is mine because Lerner New York refuses to give me any information or a copy of statement since they sold my account information to Asset Acceptence in December of 2004. I did confirm verbally that the last transaction was $39.00 in December of 1991 but they refused to send me statement. I had 3 different and very abusive conver!
sation with the staff at Asset Assurance, 2 of which were alleged supervisors and they insist the burden of proof is on me. I explained I can not prove a payment from that long ago since my bank only retains records for 10 yrs and this is over 15 yrs old. I am filing a suit against Lerner New York/WFNNB for selling my information to a third party without notifying me first-It is a law according to the Federal Trade Commission and am also filing complaint with Pa and Phio State Attorny general about the practices of Lerner New York and Asset Acceptence, I strongly urge everyone with these complaint to do the same so they maybe someone can put a stop to this.

Complaint:
I received a credit card in the mail for which I did not apply. I do not want this card and when I called to cancel it, I was told I had to cancel it in writing. This should not be since I did not want it in the first place. They should never have sent me a card for which I did not apply. Since they did, I am now forced to spend my time and stamp to cancel this card.
This should not happen!!!!!!

Complaint:      Let me stary off by saying they have no respect while talking to their customers. Once you get their card they don't care about you. In short they do not know how to do Business. I had received a bill from express for a men's denim jacket for about $92.89 which i had never bought. They asked me to write a letter to address the issue. after a month i received a letter from them giving me some false charges for the jacket which i had never bought. I know my credit history, i am 21 years old i have about 6 credit cards, never paid any late charges on any of them. I know i had never bought the jacket, i don't know how they got that fake receipt.  This is fraud. For humanities sake never ever ever go for a credit card associated with world Financial Network National Bank.

After nearly a year of wrangling with WFNNB about my purported debt I finally got them to the point where they agreed to settle it for $68 (vs. the $270 they were asking for initially).  At this point, I was happy to do so.  I sent in my check and then made sure that it was cashed (which it was) and kept records of EVERYTHING.  This was June 2005.
Imagine my surprise last month when NCO Financial Systems started to mail and call me to collect on this debt.  They had even added an "interest" payment to it, increasing the debt and leading one to believe that more interest would be added if I didn't pay.  I was incensed.
I immediately contacted WFNNB and actually got them to admit their mistake. Victory!  My payment hadn't been "referenced as a resolution".  They said they would clear everything up with the credit reporting agencies and NCO Financial Systems.
However, I wasn't too surprised to come home yesterday to find a voice mail from NCO still trying to collect this debt.  Fortunately I got a name and extension from a real person at WFNNB and have left a message with him.  To be continued...
Lessons learned:
1.  I wish I had kept a copy of my last statement from these bozos.  Will do so for 5 years with all future credit cards
2.  Never, ever do business with WFNNB. They are incompetent and crooked
3.  Keep all correspondence
4.  Be persistent in dealing directly with WFNNB, not their third party collection agency scumbags
5.  Keep detailed records of all calls - date, time, name of person you are dealing with, phone number and extension of that person

Complaint: i had a credit card from these people in 1997.  The 400.00 debt was discharged in a bankruptcy in May of 1999.  they have listed the debt as outstanding on my credit report making it difficult to get a mortgage unless we pay them off. Thisis illegal, and we intend to ccall the supreme cout and our attorneys.

Complaint: I used to have three cards all issued by WFNNB (Victoria's Secret, Express, NY Lerner).  About a year ago, my Express card showed a later payment by about 5 days, which I knew had to be their fault since I use electronic payment from my bank's BillPay.  Further supporting this was that the Victoria's Secret and NY Lerner payments made to them on the same date were NOT late.  I tried to call them and resolved the situation, they promised to waive the late fee, which they did.  Much to my dismay was the fact that a month late, this so-called late payment showed up on my credit report and knock me back about 40 points.  When I tried to contact them again, I was given the run-around and told essentially nothing could be done.  I immediately canceled all three card issued by them, however the damage has been done and it will probably take me a year or two to restore my credit scores.

I have the new york and company WFNNB credit card.I have pass throught the very very very bad customer service of WFNNB. They are unhelpful, unpolite at all.
I have moved to the new aprt and i forget to call in and change my address. I do change the address on the post office. i don't receive the payment for 6 months, and i forgot about this card too, i don't use it that much and i only use in one times that cost under $100.
After i saw from my credit report today,, i immediately call to customer service of the WFNNB bank, the customer representative was very unpolite and call me a bad debt, say i don't pay the amout of $268, and want me to pay immediately, i request a settlment but the guy just say he will not provided and he just want me to make the payment immediately. I will make the payment since this is my fault,, but i just don't satisfatied which the customer service the WFNNB provided, a very bad customer service that i never been through.

Complaint: I just wanted to add my 2 cents here. I tried to settle a debt with these people after being out of work for a year and a half due to 2 operations. It was a Chadwicks card who by the way is also Newport News. I wrote them 2 letters and both went unanswered. However, they continued to harass me by phone. I tried twice to speak to someone by phone and they just got nasty and talked over me so I hung up on them. I changed my phone number to an unlisted number and somehow they found it and started calling again. Now I just ignore them or hang up on them. I had no choice but to send this to a debt management program because they were so unreasonable. When will these morons realize that professionalism and kindness will get them everywhere. I do not respond to being bullied nor do I respond to fear tactics. This is an awful credit company that should be put out of business. Don't let them bully you if you have tried to contact them and settle your debt but only met with!
 tricks and nastiness. Contact a reputable debt management program, like Help With Debt, and have them help. Then send them a cease and desist letter and remind them that if they call you after receiving the letter that they will be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If they do violate it again then report them to your Attorney General who will make them stop. If you are trying to settle the debt then you are doing what is required by law and don't let them scare you. Good luck to you all and do not apply for any of their cards. Research the bank first before applying and be sure it's not World Financial Network National Bank.

I have had a terrible experience with WFNNB recently and am a person with excellent credit history and now can only hope it is not ruined by WFNNB.

My complain:
I have a NY and Company gold card.  Back in March, 2006 I noticed a late fee on my account, can't recall how I found out.  I called WFNNB immediately and was told I was late on the previous month which I did not receive a statement.  The rep first said they didn't receive return mail from me then said I wouldn't receive a bill in the mail since I've been paying online.  She was polite and waived the late fee but in order to keep my good record I had to make a payment over the phone and pay a $7 electronic payment fee which I agreed to just to keep my credit clean.  Contrary to what the rep told me I've been receiving statements in the mail and email notifications thereafter. 

On 10/21/06, I received an email from NYCO stating that my October statement is ready to be viewed.  I logged on to my account and ready to make a note of the due date.  To my surprise there was a late fee for the purchase I made in September, 2006 which again I didn't receive either a statement in the mail or an email.  I gave them the benefit of the doubt back in March, this time if I trusted it was a mistake I would be a fool.  I called immediately and the rep was rude and demanded payment.  When I explained the situation and my suspicion she said they didn't receive return mail and went on saying it was MY responsibility to either call or check my account online for due date if I made purchases, the company doesn't have to send me a bill!  Okay, was that the most ridiculous thing anyone has ever heard? 

I wanted to be done with doing business with WFNNB I paid my account in full including the late fee, finance charge, electronic payment fee and all two purchases including the one hasn't come due ($28 extra for a balance of $50!).  Then I asked to close my account which I know won't happen.  My friend closed her NY and Company account but was able to have the store clerk looked the account number up and make a purchase.  I also cut up the card so I won't accidentally use it again. 

Today, 10/25/06,I called to speak to the supervisor but was transferred to her voice mail.  A message was left at 11:45am and it's 8:56pm right now, she has yet to return my call.  Does anyone think she will call?  No worry, I will call again tomorrow, 24 hours is all I am giving her.  I will ask for her name to be enclosed in the letters I am sending to NY and Company's CEO, CCO, and whoever's name I could find from the company web site.  Furthermore, I refuse to be the victim of this company, I will pursue this further and find the governing agency to file my complain.  This is an unethical, if not unlawful, practice that shouldn't be allowed to go on without consequences.

Do not be so quickly to judge the people who posted the complains here.  Yes, some of them do have financial problems but it didn't mean WFNNB didn't fraud their customers.  
   
Of all my store credit cards and VISA cards, never once the bills got lost in the mail or the emails got lost in the cyberspace.  It happened twice within 7 months,both times the paper statement and email statement were lost at the same time, with WFNNB, any rationale?

Complaint:
On 03/13/06 I was contact by a guy in collections at WFNNB who said that I had an Avenue credit card with a balance of $335.00 and that I needed to make a payment over the phone, as the credit card payment was past due.  When I informed the guy that I did not open the Avenue account and that I had never received a credit card or statements from them, I was told that a $335.00 purchase had been made with the credit card in December 2005, when the account was opened.  After I explained again that I did not open the account and did not authorize anybody else to open the account, I was told that I would need to call customer service and then was given the number.  After my conversation with the guy ended I retrieved my credit reports from online to verify whether the account was real or not.  Once I confirmed that an Avenue credit card had in fact been fraudulently opened in my name I called the number the guy gave me.           When I contacted customer service the first thing they asked for was the acct. #, which I didn't know.  When I explained that the account was fraudulently opened in my name and that I did not know the acct. #, I was told that I had to have the acct. # before I could speak to anyone in customer service and they hung up.  I continued calling them and hearing the same thing until I asked them how I was going to get the acct. # being the account was fraudulent and the statements weren't being sent to my address.  Upon hearing that the lady I was speaking to, who clearly needed a hearing aid, said "You can find out your acct. # by looking at your credit card statement."  After a few more attempts I finally got a customer service representative that listened to what I was saying and was willing to assist me. The lady I spoke to told me that the Avenue account, which had a $150.00 credit limit was opened in December 2005, and that one purchase of $335.00 had been made with the card that same month.  When I asked her to verify the address on the account I discovered that the credit card and statements were sent to my sisters address, who was an employee at an Avenue store at that time.  As the conversation continued the lady told me that I could get a copy of the original application, sales receipts, etc. by sending a written request to the Fraud Dept.Before I contacted the Fraud Dept. I placed a fraud alert on my credit file and contacted the police.  I then sent a certified return receipt letter to WFNNB's Fraud Dept. requesting the account information that the police said I would need in order to have my sister prosecuted.  WFNNB received my first written request on April 17, 2006, however, they never responded.  What they did instead was call and harass me day and night.  After months passed with no response I sent a second letter via certified return receipt mail to WFNNB's Fraud Dept. requesting the information again.  In my second letter I also told them that they were violating Federal Law by not sending me the information I requested in writing on the fraudulent account and that they were holding up a police investigation.  I also told them that I would contact my state Attorney General, U.S. Attorney General, FCC, and BBB, if they continued to ignore my request.  My second written request was received by WFNNB on July 1, 2006, however, to date they still haven't sent me the information I've requested.  Instead, I received a letter in July 2006, from Fraud Investigations, which states that they have concluded that I am not responsible for the disputed balance on the account.  I'm glad WFNNB closed the account, but what I really want is the information I've requested so I can have my sister prosecuted that way she doesn't do this to me again, being this is the second time she has stolen my identity.  I'm not only frustrated with WFNNB, but The Avenue as well.  My sister was at the Avenue store working when she opened the fraudulent account in my name, so I figured they would have brought charges against her, but they didn't.  The Avenue also didn't do anything except terminate her employment when they discovered that she had stolen thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from them, even though she has a prior felony for Larceny.  If The Avenue doesn't care what their employees do, I highly doubt they care about their customers either.  And as for WFNNB, well I think they need to change their name to WORST FINANCIAL NETWORK NATIONAL BANK, because that's what they are!!!!!

I'm curious how much sacrifice Doug Funneh feels a person should make in order to resolve a matter with WFNNB?
In February 2006, I found fraudulent charges on my Avenue account statement so I called WFNNB to report them.  WFNNB told me that I would need to send a written request to their Fraud Department if I wanted documentation of the charges made.  I sent the Fraud Department a certified letter requesting copies of the sales transaction slips and other information, however, I didn't receive anything.  Then, a lady from the Account Control Department called me.  I told the lady that I had never made any purchases with the account, but that my future sister-in-law, who at the time was an Assistant Manager at an Avenue store, had admitted to making the purchases and was willing to accept responsibility for the account balance.  The lady from Account Control said and I quote "Do not make any payments on the account, because I won't be able to help you if you do," then she said she was sending me a Change of Responsibility form, for my future sister-in-law and I to sign.  When I asked!
 about the information I requested, the lady said the law prohibited her from sending me the information and that the police would need to get a subpoena before she would be able to send them the information or talk with them about the account.  I had no idea that WFNNB was in violation of Federal Law, until I contacted the FTC.     
After that the harassing phone calls from WFNNB started pouring in.  I told every person I talk to what the lady from Account Control had instructed me to do and even gave them her direct number to confirm what I was saying was true, however, it didn't seem to matter.  In June, I sent the Change of Responsibility form and another certified letter to the Fraud Department, requesting the same information I had previously requested.  Needless to say though I still haven't received the information I requested and the account still hasn't been transferred into my future sister-in-laws name.  WFNNB calls me at least 5 times a day, 7 days a week, and has even went as far as calling me on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Memorial Day, and on the Fourth of July.  I have also had times where they have called and not said anything, or simply hung up on me after I've said hello several times. 
I've called the lady at Account Control numerous times and left messages on her voice mail, but she never returns my calls.  Yesterday I received a letter from WFNNB which states that Federal Law requires them to tell me that my account has been reported to a credit bureau.  Are they kidding me?  Since when do they care about what their required to do under Federal Law?  Needless to say when I called the lady who sent me the letter I was forwarded to someone else, who then forwarded me to the voice mail of the lady who never returns my calls.  If WFNNB wants their money they need to transfer the account into my future sister-in-laws name, like they said they were going to do in June, because I'm not paying for charges I didn't make. 
Also I've noticed that several people have mentioned contacting the OCC, but I have no idea what OCC stands for, so if somebody could e-mail me that information I would greatly appreciate it.

For over six months we have been receiving calls from agents of World Financial Network National Bank for someone not at our home telephone number.  We have repeatedly explained that the person they are trying to reach is not at this number and has not been at this number since we were issued it over five years ago.  We have been accused of being the person they seek.  We have been told we were not the ones to be asking any questions, they would be the one asking questions, we were only to answer them.  We have been hung up on when we insisted on knowing the name of the person calling us or have tried to ask them to repeat their firm name so we could be clear regarding who was calling us.  We have been spoken to in the most rude and unseemly manner even though we have no idea who the person is they are calling and certainly have no idea where they are now.  We also believe (based on caller id) these are the same people who have made vulgar statements then hung up on us when!
 we have tried to question them further about who they are, who they are calling for and why they are calling.  We have asked and begged them to do a telephone number search on the number they are calling to verify our telephone number currently does not belong to the person they are trying to contact.
During all this time we have tried to remain civil and have repeatedly requested that, since the person they seek is not at this number, that they not call again.  Still these calls have persisted.  Today (11-12-2006) we were finally able to weasel enough information out of them to find out we don't live on the same street as the person they are trying to reach and they are calling in an attempt to collect a debt, two things we never knew until today.  We still have no idea what debt they are trying to collect.  We have no personal knowledge of the person they are trying to reach. 
Whenever we have made attempts to contact a representative of World Financial Network National Bank in the hopes of finally putting an end to the calls, we have met with resistance, even being told if we would stop lying to them and just pay the debt (because, according to the various agents we've spoke with, we know we owe it) they would stop calling, although they refuse to discuss the matter with us and insist on speaking to the person they are calling.  What little we have now has been many months in gathering.  How can we convince them that we are not the person they seek, we do not know that person, we are not hiding that person, and we do not live at her address?  Even when we have managed to have them verify the phone number via the internet and believe we have reasonably justified their not calling us, they persist.  But we are at our wit's end and it seems, since this is a number they have on file for this person, we have no recourse but to tolerate their repeated!
 calls.  How can this be legal?  Why should we be forced to endure this harassment??

I have the same problems with this company as all others seem to have.  I paid my Avenue bill promptly.  They did not cash the check although they received it.  When checking my bank statement I found that I had a debit that I did not recognize.  I stopped payment on the unapproved debit.  Months later I receive a nasty call from World Financial asking me to pay my bill and why did I stop payment on my check.  I did not stop payment on a check as there is a charge for that and I would never do it.  It took me abut 4 months to figure out that World Bank had debited my account without approval and also cashed the check.  I am STILL fighting with them over a $99 payment which I paid twice and they are billing me finance charges for...  Now I get a call from a non English speaking person and that is the final straw.

Complaint: I too have had the experience of being called by a rude collection agent for WFNNB.  Due to a change of address I did not receive a bill and very honestly forgot about my purchase,  I did try to give my new address information at the store at the time of purchase but it was refused.   My first phone call from the bank was very upsetting,  first I had to ask 3 times what the call was about before I received a very curt and rude answer.  Be very careful because their practices are not eithical.  I called to get the payoff amount, sent in the amount I was quoted but they neglected to tell me the very next day I would have another $20.00 late fee incured.   If I had not called to make sure the account was closed I would have been late on the $20.00 late fee balance and they would tacked a late fee on that.  It could have been a vicious circle.  I told them to close my account and I will make sure none of my credit cards are through their bank. I will never open anothe!

Well, I got a good one for you. I have spoken to them regarding the accounts and even mailed correspondence listing check numbers showing what checks will be sent and when. WELL!!!!! Needless to say they call me everyday nonstop 4-5 times, from different numbers thinking they are slick....NOT!!!!! (by the way this is illegal in most states)I'm in NJ and you can only call 2x's a week not a million times a day! Anywho I stopped answering the phone. ( I was a collector for a living so I know the protocal!!) In the stores the people are wonderful,on the phone they are rude and very nasty.I agree with a lot of people, they should have you pay via a website but they will probably charge you $10.00.

Apparrently Shop At Home went out of business and WFNNB took over all their accounts.  I had gone on the Shop at Home website and made a one time payment of my minimum.  I accidently checked no more paper bills, so not only did they not send me bills they did not even send anything elctronically.  They began to call incessantly from early in the morning to into the evening, multiple times a day, Monday through Sunday.  They even dragged my husband into it.  I am deaf and he answers the phonecalls.  They were rude, demanding, nasty, obnoxious, inconsiderate, and everything they are to all the other people.  My husband sent a payment to cover two back months and started me again on paper bills.  The check was due by 12/16.  They called on the 17th and said they had never recieved it and threatened to charge an additional $29.00.   My husband checked the online copy of his check which shows it being processed by their bank on the 15th of December.  I am considering turning it over to our lawyer for a consult.  Can't wait for their next bill to see what they have done.  If there is anyone else who has experienced such fraud from any aspect of this bank, perhaps we should band together for a class action suit against them?  Email my husband at the above and he will be my spokesperson.   Thanks.

About a week ago I started receiving calls from this number which I later identified to be WFNNB. When I did not pick up, the caller left no message. When I did, the caller repeatedly asked to speak with "John". After I told the caller several times that there was no John at this number, they still continued to call. After reading previous posts, I am concerned that somebody may have used my phone number as part of their information for a credit card. I'm assuming the repeated calls with no messages means that this bank is trying to recoup some owed money. I don't know what to do. I've never had a credit card in my life, and these people don't seem to care that the person they are looking for is not at this number. I want the calls to stop. Is there a way I can force them to stop calling, i.e. like the do not call list? I don't understand how they got my number. It's not even a land line, it's a cell phone number!

Complaint: I received three calls (at work) from WFNNB about a Chadwicks account I do not have.  The first time the lady was nice and verified my information was not the right person.  After I got off the phone I called Chadwicks to make sure I was not crazy.  The next call, the man was rude and would not give me the SSN he was looking for.  When I asked him to speak to Chadwicks customer service he hung up on me.  Today I got a third call and I was so angry I asked to speak to a supervisor.  He refused and asked me to verify my SSN; I refused and hung up.  Now I know there is another person with the same name in my city, but after two times of me telling them they have the wrong person I would think they would finally get the message.

Complaint: This company or bank is very annoying.  Every time they call to ask for me and I'm not home , the person on the other end is very rude.  They will not leave a message with the person to let me know they called.  They just get grouchy and hangs up in a huff.  My family is now at the point where if they see the number come up on our caller ID they will just ignore the call.  They just don't want to deal with the person on the other end.  Also, if the call is that important to them maybe they should leave a message.  I'm not saying I'm perfect, due to the fact I have been late on a payment, it's just rude for them to treat people the way they do.  Maybe if we just called them back at least 6-7 times a day they would see how it feels to be harrased by numerous phone calls.

My wife and have been recieving harassing phone calls from the mental midgets at WFNNB in refrence to A item that was returned and another item that She never recieved from a mail order house.  My wife has spoken to thier alleged supervisors at least 10 ten times and got different ansewrs each time .  They have yet to provide a reciept for anything .
Yet each time we ask for a supervisor the phone agent gets very nasty so the last time that I spoke with one of thier bugger picking idiots and demanded to speek with her supervisor she hung up on me.

Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, shame on me!  WFNNB dropped the ball, the first time and lost my on-time payment for my first ever balance on my VS credit card.  I had proof the money cleared my account.  I jumped through their hoops to resolve the issue (e.g., write a letter and send copy of cashed check).  Received a letter stating they were sorry for the mistake and my balance would be restored to zero.  Low-and-behold I get my next statement and the balance, lates fees and finance charges were all still there.  Give it time.....next statement comes and STILL the balance remains. And, let's count them, that's two times they've dropped the ball! Call customer service number on my statement........."we can't help you with that".  Great, now I have to waste my time writing another letter.
It is a shame that a credit company cannot take better steps to ensure that their cardholders credit remains intact.  If this had been left unchecked my credit could have suffered because I would have been "delinquent" in making my payments.  When in fact, I paid everything ontime and in full and it was just the bank that screwed up and lost the payment.
I'm not even going to go into what it was like to be called by WFNNB all hours of the day, all days of the week.........to collect on a charge I had paid.  What a joy!  And the caller was very impolite, to boot!  I will be canceling this card without further delay and NEVER will do business with this company again if I can avoid it.

Complaint: My wife has been receiving calls and harrassment from this bank over an account which we never had. When you look it up on the internet, the woman it is named for has a different middle name and address. We never had an account with this catalogue company, have never ordered anything from it, and are treated rudely by the personel of this bank. They say they have sent forms for us to fill out, but we have never received them. They probably made an error in the entry of the social security number and are blaming my wife. Why should our great credit be screwed up because of their error.

Complaint: So I have had quite the experience with these people. I had three cards opened under them that were fraudulent. They all go along with the other ID Theft things I have had. So back in May I called and reported all of this. They said to fill out, notarize, and send in the affidavit that they would send me. I recieved it and sent it in. They tell me they never recieved it. This was in December. So they sent me another one and told me to fax it for quicker response. So I did. Again, they say they never got it. An investigator called me and accused me of trying to get out of my finacial responsibilities and basically calling me a liar. They call me all the time. Also, their call center people advised me to make a payment to hold the account while I was waiting on the fraud investigation, telling me that when the account was deemed fraud, I would get that money back. I later found out that paying those small amounts was an admittance of responsibility and legally I am !
responsible for the accounts now. I'm currently writing a dispute letter which one of the ladies told me would get the calls reviewed and if thats what happened, the bank would be responsible. I hate them so much.

STAY AWAY!  They issue credit cards for stores like Victoria's Secret, Limited, Dress Barn, and several others.  They claim that I charged merchandise on my account but never sent a statement.  A settlement offer came in the mail and I called the Account Audit Manager immediately.  I explained that I would be willing to pay whatever I owe, but I want to verify that I made the purchases.  He stated that he didn't have any specific information about the account.  I asked him to send me a copy of the statement. (Which I am entitled to by contract and law).  Never heard back from them until the account was referred to a 3rd party collections agency.  I've made repeated requests for verification of the supposed debt, but no one will give me dates, times, amounts of purchase/s.  I've been harassed at home and at work over this and WFNNB doesn't care about resolving the issue.
STAY AWAY!  They are not a legitimate bank.  Their Customer Service is non-responsive.

Complaint: I had a Victoria's Secret card that was always paid on time for over 2 yrs. 3 yrs ago a stopped working after I had my first child so that I could care for her medical needs.  I settled my account with WFNNB one month ago and called today b/c I haven't received confirmation of this transaction. The represenative very rude and informed me that they had no intentions of mailing me a confirmation until I called and complained about it. B/c if their delay I asked if it could be faxed b/c I'm trying to buy a house and I need this proof of payment. The rep replied " Well then I guess you should have payed it before 35 days ago and then you wouldn't be worried about a deadline".  I spoke with this rep's supervisor who was even worse than the first and told me that she didn't care what was said to me and that she would not even review the tape of the conversation that I was complaining about.  I will never get another card from this company again. They are training a bunc!

Complaint: I have been receiving phone calls for this company for the woman who USE to have MY phone number. They've been calling 9 months and I continuously tell them that this is no longer her phone number. In the last 6 days, we have received 7 phone calls. Some calls have been as early as 7 am and as late as 8 pm. I've talked to supervisors 3 times and they have said that I should have told the people to take my number off ALL the accounts and I would not receive anymore calls. (Did I need to tell them that? I figured they'd think about that.) That was 2 days ago and someone called tonight. I've contacted the Department of Licensing for my state, and they will begin the investigation and process in suspension and finings on WFNFNB's business license. I have also contacted a consumer rights lawyer who has told me I have the right to sue for harassment, which I may to do. I have good credit and my family should have the right not to be harassed for some bum who does not pa!

Complaint: THESE D SONS OF A GUNS......... I am too through with WFNNB and Express... they are so quick to offer you credit but then leave you high and dry when you need help during hardships. I opened an account with Express around 2000, during this time I was a full time student and working part time, but when I was no longer working part time of course I couldn't make the minimum due.  So I contacted Express to see if they would be wiling to work with me but to no avail, they could care less. So of course I was sent to COLLECTIONS WFNNB so after a few harrassment calls I finally ask my Dad for the money to put in my bank account to pay the balance that I owe.  They were so quick to take the money out of my account BUT GUESS WHAT!!! The BULL is still on my credit report after 7 years and not only that, it doesn't even show that I PAAAAIIIIDDDDD!!!!! I am so HEATED!!!! Those Punks!!!!

Complaint: On 02/24/06 I recieved a call from this bank requesting to speak with my mother who recently had a stroke.  This call was at 8:30a.m., I explained she was not in and that she was in a hospital recovering from a stroke.  At 9:25 they called again, I repeated myself.  They called again at 9:40 a.m., 10:45a.m. and again at 3:45 p.m.  After the 10:45 call I called them back (*69) and explained the situation again for the fourth time. They told me my mother would have to write a letter for the calls to cease. SHE CAN'T WRITE, SHE JUST HAD A STROKE !. Do you know they called again at 3:45p.m. at which time I reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.

Don't pay your bill online!! They will opt you in to only getting a statement via email. Not a problem if they would send the statement to your email address!! Never got one untill yesterday. Now the shirt I payed $25.00 they want $100.28 with late fees. They also dinged my credit score.
Plus I had to change my address 4 times. I called the customer service number and reached Susan in India who was no help at all. Finally I get her superviser who was rude and talked over me untill I yelled at her and told her she wan't going to win this one!! She finally removed the late fees and today I go went back to get online and make sure she did this. Guess what I can't get online again today!! What a joke!! So I'm closing my Avenue, Lane Bryant and now my Eddie Bauer account.

I've had a credit card for Express stores for years, but rarely use it. I was shopping this past January and went to use the card. I was informed that I had a $100 credit on the card because at sometime in the past I had over paid, which is a not uncommon for me to have done. I used the card, the teller informed me that I still had a $15 dollar credit and I thought my business was concluded. I received a bill and a collections phone call some time in February saying that I owed them money. I quickly got in contact with a customer service representative and explained my story. The representative said that they had put the information into the computer and that someone would get in touch with me in the future.
For another month I didn't hear anything and as the adage goes "no news is good news". This morning at 7:05 a.m. I received a phone call from a collections agent that was not only unprofessional, but rude. He informed me that no notes were in the system regarding my customer service call and that my payment amount had increased. I find it outrages and insulting that this incident so now on my credit history and that I must continually waste my time with this nuisance. I encourage every one with a grievance to write Express directly so that they my better remediate the actions and behaviors of their credit card provider.

received a phone call from World Financial Network Bank late on Friday March 17, 2007 telling me I have failed to make payments for two months on a Eddie Bauer account and   The account was opened while at their outlet store in November 2006 with a grand charge of $78.00.  When I got off the phone I looked everywhere for any statement from Eddie Bauer.  None.  Checked emails.  Nope.  When I called back last evening to find out where this BANK has sent my bills, the person (with a very strong accent) refused to provide my address as she stated for me to tell her and she would tell me if it was correct. 
I called back today just to see what additional information I could get from this bank.  I also wanted them to continue to refuse my request to know where they sent my statements because I wanted it recorded (of course, I made that statement before I turned on the phone recorder).  I think I know a grift when I hear it.  She had a very strong accent as well but from the other side of the world.  And she said the same thing, I mean same word for word script  as previously stated.  So the bank made $36 on me and EddieB lost a customer (plus is receiving a lot of bad publicity). 
Anyone interested in filing a petition for sanctions or a class action suit against this scam please contact me.  Maybe the bank will be willing to pay back every penny of late fee charges? Haha.

I had a Crescent Jewelers Gold Account that I paid religiously. For this reason, in October 2006 I was able to upgrade to a platinum account, which I used to PAY OFF my gold account. About a month later, I received a zero balance letter stating that I had paid off my gold account, but I started to wonder what was going on when I didn't receive a bill for my new platinum account. I waited until December, and still no bill. I contacted Crescent Jewelers with my name, social security number, address, everything. I did not have an account number for the platinum account because I hadn't received a bill yet! Crescent Jewelers said they could find NO RECORD of my platinum account, and all they had record of was that I had paid off my gold account. They said I would have to contact the store where I made purchases.
I contacted my local store, where I had done all of the paperwork, and they were also unable to find ANYTHING related to a platinum account. One of the salesgirls said she vaguely remembered me, but still, there was nothing they could do. They searched ALL of their files, thinking it may have been misplaced, but found nothing. They said there was nothing further that they could do.
Still I contacted them again in February 2007, had them run my information again, and STILL nothing.
Then lo and behold, now at the end of March 2007, I am getting NUMEROUS phone calls a day from WFNNB. I have explained this to them, and all they can do is waive a few of my late fees. That's it. They expect me to make four months worth of payments right now. There's a reason I am making payments, and it's because I can't afford to make that many payments at once! My husband was out of work for two months, and I'm pregnant. But these people are so rude and hateful, they just don't care. My husband and I are already going to file for bankruptcy. His being out of work has really damaged our credit, so I don't plan to pay WFNNB anyways, but I still cannot believe that a company like this is still in business. All of the stores who work with them are going to lose customers.
I hope that someone puts a stop to WFNNB soon!

Complaint: Ok, I got a credit card for the Dress Barn, I was religiously paying it off, and did not really owe to much, then my landlord raised my rent, because of high heating costs, and my boyfriend took another job else where, and I was left having to pay the whole rent myself, and no longer had the extra money to keep up with all the bills I paid, so I got behind, and of course do I not pay the rent,no I pay the whole rent, and the lesser of the two evils was not paying the credit card because the prospect of living on the street was not one I would of picked.  So today I get a calle from Agent so and so, in a threating manner, and a loud tone in her voice, and if she thought that was going to get her anywhere it was not.  Considering this was the first call I have ever recieved.  Oh I will have to borrow the money and pay the evil one, but she is the one that will go to one hot place for being so nasty.  I am not one to shirk my financial responsibilities, but sometimes!

Not only do they have the poorest speaking english i have ever heard but they rudeness is un called for i finally got ahold of them by calling them seems i never got a billed sent to me so of course they won't give you any leway! so i paid it not the bigest deal but Honestly what HORRIABLE the WORST customer service when i called to activate my card.. The man David or something or another i know they have to use fake names but he wanted me to sign up for a payment protection plan i got scamed into once and let me tell you i said not but somehow the recording said yes when turns out they aske you to verify your last name or house number and use that to say you said yes to the payment protection plan... always say NO i will not verify that with you!!! if they have already asked you about that payment !

Complaint: Today my retired husband received a call on our line for our grown daughter who has moved and had her land line disconnected with calls forwarded to us.  Some rude woman said well this is the number we have for her....what is her cell phone number (my husband did not tell the woman our daughter even has a cell phone..it was just her asking)--he said he wouldn't give it out and she said you HAVE to give it to me--he replied, I don't have to tell YOU ANYTHING...I don't even know who the heck you are but if you leave your number and name I will have our daughter contact you------the woman hung up!!  What a load of crap!!!

Complaint: I recently received some threatening letters due to my not being able to pay my bill.  THis company DOES NOT work with people at all.  Last year i paid off my express card because I wanted them to leave me alone.  Well I tried and pleaded with the guy to work out something with me.  He was extremely rude saying people have bills and pay them all the time.  NO sypmpathy whatsoever from these people.  They are just a bunch of trained heartless robots instructed to do what it takes to get your money.  Fastforward to this year, I sitll had my limited account I was paying on which fell behind due to some family situations.  Well i got my two harassing letters and rather than dealing with the rudeness of the people you have to talk to i called to set up payment arrangements so i never have to deal with them again.  I then realzied I have to apply to live somewhere and the place i want to live needs a signed letter showing i'm making payments.  Credit card companies send!
 out authorization forms all the time.  I got one from Capital One.  Well when i asked the gentlemen if I could have a letter HE LAUGHED at me and said no.  ??? I was so mad but said okay and hung up.  I then called the next day and spoke to a different person and explained i needed the letter for housing.  He told me all he could do was a conference call with my perspective landlord.  Now I work in a billing department for an insurance company and we do things like HAND type letters for people all the time.  It would probably take him about two minutes to type up what i need.  I am giong to the better businss bureau on this one because this company is seriously rediculous.

Complaint: I keep receiving phone calls from these people and they are extremly rude.  When I try to explain that the person they are trying to contact does not live here nor has lived here for quite some time they hang up on me.  Today they said if the person they are trying to contact would get in touch with them the calls would stop.  How do you get someone to call someone whom you haven't had contact with them in months?  Just stop calling here.

I received a letter today from this fine instituition stating that they are engaged in gathering personal information from many of the retail business (in my case from Harlem furniture) and also that they may share my personal information like credit hx with other corporations. I am certain they must have sold it to some doubious characters and now they are mailing these disclaimers to me. I will take legal action if my personal info is misused.

I am still beside myself after calling to attempt to make payment's on an old Express card that I had when I was 18 years old. Recently I just got in a somewhat better financial position as to where I can begin to make some payments on old bills. When I called I was spoken to very rudely,asked if I could work another job??? And overall just treated extremely disrepectfully. To think I am calling to try and settle this matter, mind you I have not been harrassed or called due to the fact this agency did not have current information on me, otherwise I can only imagine how I would have been. One would think when a person is calling in to attempt to settle a matter that they would not be treated so poorly, which is an understatement!

Complaint: They call my home day and night when I do not owe them any money or do I ever shop at victoria secrets. They are very rude and selfish. I have told them over and over not to call my phone as no one in this household will ever buy from victoria secrets as I have better places to spend my money than at a place like that who overcharges you. This bank does not take to do not call anymore!!! They continue to say we are looking for some other person who does no even live at this household. They have called as late as 9pm and as early as 7am. It is against the law to call people before 8am and after 8pm at night. I work for a great company as a customer service rep and have never treated people the way this bank does when they call, My phone number is on national do not call list they continue to call day and night. Since they do not want to stop calling I am now going to sue them for harrassment. I hope they are ready because I have several people backing me up. This b!

Complaint: I decided to get a Maurices credit card and I paid some of my bills and like others got laid off from my job. I started getting calls from WFNB at least 4 times a day if not more. I finally decided to settle with them and set up a payment plan when i got a job.. I soon got another job and i didn't have a bank account and they kept asking me to use a friend, family member anyone because i guess i would be turned into collections ( which i expected) i started making 60.00 a week to them. I called one thursday to check my balance on how much i owed. it said i was down to 50.00 i was glad 50.00 isn't much to go..then i called the next friday and it jumped up to 147.00 i never recieved a credit card from maurcies so no one could of used my account.. i never resolved the manner. but i just think that WFNB are rude, pushy, and irresponsible..

Complaint:   I can't believe the way WFNNB conduct business.  Thru Newport New, there was a charge from a 3rd party for 12.95.  I called WFNNB, was advised I had to call Newport New, which I did, Newport referred me back to WFNNB.  AFter 3 calls I got nowhere.  I wrote a letter to Newport, they finally took off the charge,  In the mean time, WFNNB is charging me a late fee for the 7 months it take for me to stop this charge.  I send WFNNB a letter explaining the charge that I did not authorized (mind you I still don't know what it was for)and they advised me that I was still responsible for the 12.95 charge plus the late charges.  I thought that if you have an unauthorized charge on your credit card and you are questioning it.  Shouldn't the credit card company look into it.  Worst part is that when you speak to one of their representatives, they speak to you with this tone of voice as if you are stupid.  Yes plain old stupid.  There is not other word for it.

A couple of years ago I made a purchase from NEWPORT NEWS. Shortly after recieving my order I was sent a preapproved application with a $400.00 line of credit through WFNNB. Wich I accepted. During the course of the following year, I bought many, many things using this credit card and was quickly advanced to a $600.00 limit. Due to the interest charges (20 plus %) I always paid my bill ontime and usually in full, upon recieving the merchandise.
I recently went online to buy more clothes and found out my account had been closed due to lack of payment!
  So I called Newport News. All I`ve been able to learn from them is that my (Last) purchase was Nov 26, 06 for $112.94 and my last payment was made Dec 03, 06 for $112.94 (11 days later). I have varified payment with my own bank.
My next call was to WFNNB, and was told I needed to speak with an account specialist who was not avaliable because it was not currently during banking hours of operation, but he was able to confirm a $0 balance at the end of billing cycle Dec,06....  So I asked him "Where did the $17.00 charge come from?" Since Newport News had already stated it was not through them! He told me my account had a $15.00 charge on Feb 18, 06 the rest was interest and penalties, but was not able to tell me its origin. To the best of my knowledge, in the couple years I have carried this card I have never been charged any type of annual fee. Since I made all my purchases and payments online, I don`t get a hardcopy in the mail, and was unaware of this bogus charge. Is it legal for them to change the conditions of the card without my written aknowlegement?
I have always recieved excellent service from Newport News but am greatly saddened having been introduced to WFNNB to the extent of questioning future purchases.
If this turns out to be some "new" service charge, I will pay the toll and avoid further contact with All above mentioned parties at all cost!

Complaint: I just received a letter dated April 12,2007 from Asset Acceptance LLC. Stating that my account with WFNNB had been purchased by Asset Acceptance LLC. This account supposedly was with Service Merchandise.I never had an account with WFNNB. They said that I had an account with Service Merchandise in 1988 and that I purchased an item in 1994 that there was a balance of $ 121.00. That was the only item that I ever purchased from Service Merchandise and it was paid in full.The letter that I received states that with accrued interest that the balanced owed has climbed from $121.00 to $998.00. Service Merchandise moved from this area years ago. The only dealing that I had with Service Merchandise was that one item that I bought in 1994. The item was paid off. When I received the letter yesterday I called WFNNB and they said that I did not owe them any money. So why was this so called account sold to a bill collector? If there was such a bill why didn't I ever receive a n!
otice in the mail from WFNNB or Service Merchandise that the payment was due. I always pay my bills. My credit has always been excellent. This supposedly happened in 1994. Thirteen years ago. I am retired and I do not owe any money and I have no intention on paying this bill which does not exist.

Complaint: My identity was stolen years ago.  I keep a fraud alert on all the credit reporting agency files.  Domestications/WFNNB gave credit to the person who stole my identity  and I continue to be on their robocall list, even after I have filled out and sent their fraud department all the forms and info they needed, including the number of the police report.  They continue to call to collect money from me that I not only do not owe but that is their responsibility for not checking a credit report to see the fraud alert under my name.  All the merchandise was sent to the thief's address and so were the bills.  When they bounced a check, suddenly WFNNB is calling and harassing me.  This needs to stop - not only for me but for all the hundreds of complaints I am seeing on various websites.  We need a class action lawsuit against WFNNB and we need to get some laws changed.

Complaint: I recieved a call from wfnb this morning at 730am, I didn't answer it. Then again at 330pm, in which I answered. She was very rude, threatening, using scare tactics, throwing around accusations. I humg up on her after several munites of abuse. An hour or so later they called again, this time it was a guy. He was nice and understanding. I told him I couldn't pay over the phone at the moment but I would call them back. So I called them back later that evening. The guy on the phone kept trying to get info out of me, but I insisted that he prove that he is with wfnb and I am afiliated with them through my express card. he said the number I dialed to reach him says wfnb, no, it dosen't. It just says thanks for reaching our automated.....for english push 1......... enter your account number and ssn......... I was like yea right! Now Im looking online for an official web site where I can pull an official phone number from to call and discuss my situation, but I cant find!

Complaint: I have (had) a Pottery Barn Kids card through this bank.  I have always paid my bills on time.  I paid one bill online with PBK's, and apparently this automatically made any future statements I was to receive exclusively online, and not in the mail.  I received a call from WFNNB stating that I was 2 months overdue on a payment to PBK - I had never received an online statment or a paper statement.  I had saved all my e-mails for the past 6 months and nowhere could I find a statment from them - plenty of Pottery Barn e-mails, but all of them offers for merchandise!  When I challenged the bank to provide me with past statements, they said they "couldn't do that".  I have no SPAM blocker, so they can't use that excuse.  I am sure this will negatively affect my good credit ratings. Curiously enough, several weeks later, I got my statment via e-mail!  Too late now!!!!  They SUCK

Complaint: I'm still trying to get over my conversation with an uneducated, unmannered telephone rep at WFNNB.  All for a lousy $100.  I explained to them numerous times in the past 3 weeks that I just had a c-section and that I really couldn't get up yet.  They still called, twice a day and one actually said to me, "you weren't in labor for 4 months mam."  I was so taken back by the comment, I had to yell at this guy.  I told him he doesn't know what I went through the past few months and that I don't have to share that with him.  He then replied, what did you go through, which I said I didn't have to explain to them my personal situation, and then he asked if someone else could pay this.  Not only is this rude, it's intrusive and disrespectful.  I may owe them money, but it does not give them the right to call my house and disrespect me, especially after I just had a baby.  They are difficult to work with and difficult to try to explain what may be causing financial hardship.  I am closing and hope to never deal with these folks again.

Complaint: I spoke with a Mr. Rawlings at x4622, who was just about the rudest person I've ever encountered in my life. They failed to send a statement to me from Sept. 2006 to April 2006 (and still have never sent a statement) and suddenly "found" me after a $100 bill had ballooned to about $300 for late fees & interest. To add insult to injury, the said they'd only accept a check over the phone & added to this a $15 "check processing fee." Only a fool would ever deal with any business that uses World Financial Network National Bank to back their cards. I wish I hadn't been suckered in myself to these unscrupulous, unprofessional "bankers."

Complaint: I have had to deal with these awful, terrible RUDE people for VS and AT.  They are so incredibly rude and uneducated, I can't believe they have these jobs.  Where on earth is the CS??  There is none.  I was travelling out of teh country for 2 months and when the bills came in, I obviously didn't get them.  When I returned and attempted to make my payment and ask for leniency on a late fee, they refused.  It started a 5 month battle with them.  They would call at all hours and hang up.  I would have to call them back (based on the number that showed up on my cell) and see what the problem was.  When I got tired of the whole situation, I paid the account with an account they had saved in my file and then they told me the information was incorrect and the payment didn't do through.  Well, being complete mercenaries, they slapped me with another late fee.  I was on the phone for an hour trying to understand why I was being penalized for an error that wasn't entirely my fault.  Why didn't they verify that information with me before processing the payment??  They are awful and I will NEVER have a card from any store that is run by them.

Okay, I understand the postition of all of you who work for the credit agencies, and yes I am sure that hearing the same thing day in and day out is rough.  What I don't understand is the following:
1) you say call if we have an issue, why is it that the 1st 4 people in customer service have no idea what to do?
2) Why does it take not 1, not 2 but 3 unsuccessful attempts to have an adress change be posted to your account?  And the only reason why it may even get done is because a collection agent has called and harassed someone because a stament was returned undelivered? Not to mention the fact that a collection agent was notified of an address the bill should be sent to. (see #4)
3) why is it so hard to obtain any relevant contact information for WFNNB other than customer service? Do not say it is easy, you google it and tell me.(same 1800 number, same land address, no titles, no people, no departments)
4) What about your complaints department? What about makinging it easier for us to speak with managers, who do not have a worse attitude than the person who blatently accused my mother of being a liar,by stating that she could not be sick with cancer because he had reached her at work?  he told her that she used that EXCUSE in December. To you this is agressive calling tactics, to the rest of the world it is dispicable.

I ordered a bedspread from The Country Store and returned it. I paid $20.95 shipping and handling. They added a charge on my account for I know not what. I called them on two different occasions and settled that I didn't owe them anything but the left hand never told the right hand.Apparently they turned the matter over to the World Financial Network National Bank for collection.Since then the WFNNB has called me over 100 times. I have told them that I didn't owe the money and was not going to pay it. They are continuing to call me up to 7 times per day. They say they will harrass me until I do pay.It will be a cold day in hell when I pay that outfit.My advice is don't go near this bank. They are a bunch of scam artists.

I ordered something on my credit card from Lane Bryant/Women Within and they gave my credit card information to the Buyer's Edge. Buyer's Edge has illegally withdrawn money from my banking account. I opened a credit line with Bealls dept store and paid my bill every month on time or early and always over the amount required. At one point my dad got very sick and died, other personal events happened in my life at the same time. I got one payment behind on my Bealls card and they cancelled the credit I had with them and starting calling immediately after I was 14 days behind. I work for a school district and only get paid once a month so I needed to double up the next month. Not Good enough for them.... So I started having it electronic withdrawn and you have to call back every 3 months and reset it up. After 9 months I was ahead on the payments and they still did not release my card to charge,because I had gotten behind on some other cards. So now they call @ work constantly, @ home, on my cell. It is crazy. I will never ever deal with these people again even if I get fantastic credit in the futere.Will not recommend a Bealls to anyone or will not ever shop there mysel!

Complaint: I just called to get my balance due in hopes of setting a payment arrangement. I realize I was behind in payments, but I have NEVER been spoken to like I was from Matt. After speaking to two other people I finally did set up an arrangement, but I can only hope that Mat doesn't ever take another collections call again!!

Complaint:
CANCELING ACCOUNT!!!
According to WFNNB's Credit Card Agreement, the only way to cancel your account is to:
1.  Cut your cards in half, including any add'l cards you may have requested for family members. The account will not e cancelled without returning each card;
2.  Write a letter to WFNNB stating that you wish to cancel your account effective immediately;
4.  Send the cut card(s) to WFNNB with your cancellation letter to the address show on the back of your Billing Statement, along with your final payment, if any. 
As a precautionary measure, I suggest that you also do the following BEFORE mailing this packet to WNFFB:
a. Make a photocopy of your letter and of the cut cards as proof that they were cut in half;
b.  Send the cards and letter via CERTIFIED MAIL so that you have a record as to when you mailed it and when the package was delivered and received by WNFFB;
c.  Follow-up with WNFFB within 14 business days to acquire your current account status and to request a written confirmation stating that your account has been closed as requested.
I also suggest that within 60 days of initiating the cancellation of your account, that you pull copies of each of your credit reports (i.e., Experian, Equifax & TransUnion) and initiate disputes to indicate that the account has been "Paid in Full" and "Closed by Consumer".

Complaint_against: WFNNB

Complaint: I receive data calls from WFNNB to my cell phone constantly.  I have made repeated attempts to get them to cease, but they will not.  It is insane as you would think their communications dept would figure out they are not getting through and check their number.  When I call, hold forever to talk to someone, even request a supervisor -- I get nowhere.  They tell me to contact my phone company.  Then the calls start again.  I have never done business with them, and I never will!!!

Complaint:
COmpany refuses to send me monthly statement on time, always billing me for late fees.  For the past two months, I have not recieved a monthly statement and when I report it each month I have been given the following excuses:
1. We do not have to send out monthly statements
2.  Someone has stolen your monthly statement and will be using your credit card
3.  We have to get money from someone and if it is late, then it is you

WFFNB- Express Card

Complaint: I have been an avid shopper at express for many years and a former employee with a really great credit score.  I received my second phone call from a collections representative from WFFNB after my payment was not yet due and a full payment was already in the mail.  I tried to tell the representative that the payment was in the mail.  He then called me he didn't believe me, I can't keep promises, and that I was a liar!  He continued to harass me and ask me various questions.  Well I have closed this account that's for sure!!

Complaint:
I am the Senior Lead Security Officer for WFNNB and am in no way associated with the company itself. However, I know and agree with many of you that the company does screw up pretty bad on a number of different things, but thats not why i am writing. Scroll up to #14 on the list of complaints. You might see a story about a soldier or something who claims he has the address and to the company (which can be found online or in any phonebook) and is going to pay a "visit" to the company and talk with "Veronica" the person who is in charge of his account. He says at the end he has a federal ID and that  will get him past any security guards at the building. I understand your frustration with the company but i will be there, waiting for you. If you think ANY ID (besides our company ID badge and a company pin number) will get you past the lobby doors think again. We have officers, FBI, and military issue warrants, Subpeonas, garnishments, and etc all the time. They all under NO ci!
rcumstances have any ability to enter the building without federal search warrants; and even then they only apply to a specified area within the building. So yeah, your "Federal Id" won't get you anywhere. Try coming in with a weapon and I guarantee you will regret it. Like i said before, the company is pretty rotten, yes, so you can only imagine the number of people who stop by the building trying to complain or try their luck at getting passed the security. WFNNB is owned by Alliance Data, a Multi Billion dollar a year business with more than 200 private label credit cards and more than 10 banks and credit collection agencies. We have security that is trained and armed AND licensed in preventing access to anyone who "thinks" they have special permissions. Good luck buddy. Can't wait to arrest oh I mean see you soon.

Complaint_against: World Financial Network Bank

Complaint: Recently WFNB had contacted my mother to try and locate me. Evidently, they called her because I was at work and couldn't reach me at home. I spoke with them and told them to never contact my mother again. 2 days later, they contacted her again. My mother asked them how much I owed, and they actually told her. They even told her the amount I was past due. I called them up and I was extremely angry. According to Dennis, she ''guess the amount'' I owed. It's amazing she guessed it to the penny. Turns out, she didn't guess anything. They broke the law and gave my information out to her. I will be calling some attorneys tomorrow.

Complaint: I have received several phone calls from World Financial Network National Bank to a Mary Stinson with an account at Dress Barn. I do not have ANY credit cards or charge accounts (for about 8 years). I returned the first call and explained that I am NOT this person. Not only do they KEEP calling my work number, but they must be rotating people as it is a different one each time.  TIRED OF IT!!!

Complaint:
Received collection notice 7/27/07. Called them and was told it's a woman's catalog and I owe them $266.39. I asked when I used this because I don't remember such a thing and was told 1992!
I replied "1992 as in 15 yrs ago 1992?" I let them know I will NOT pay this bill and also it's WELL past statute of limitations in my state. They told me that doesn't matter as they're a 3rd party and they WILL collect AND report it on my Credit Report.I sent copy to my State Senator, Filed online FTC complaint, BBC complaint AND sent them certified letter with return request receipt.Letter stated that I do not owe them, will not pay, quit calling/sending me letters and I know my rights. Will not hesitate to pursue legal recourse.
Just today received another letter from them with debt validation. What a joke. All it is, is their letterhead with made up numbers on it. Means nothing to me. I will not respond to or with them again.
Not to mention that in 1992 we filed bankruptcy. So I'm sure it's on there IF we can only find out what the company is they say we owed. Still haven't done that.

Complaint: My husband and I were sent 4 credit cards in the past week from this bank.  We applied to NONE of them.  I received a bill from one of the credit cards that was maxed out.  The company that the credit card belonged to would give me no information about the purchase or who it was sent to.  Be aware of any credit card isssued from this bank.  If they get any information on you or your spouse, you can pretty much forget about your credit... this company ruins it!!!

In 09/2006 my husband died and we had 9 (yeah 9) WFNNB's credit cards. I missed the payments for 3 months while I settled the other matters that come with the unexpected death of a life partner. For the last month or so of that time I got phone cals 3 to 6 times a day for EACH credit card!  I told them all the same thing "My husband died and as soon as I can I will settle all the accounts with 1 cashiers check and a copy of his death certificate. Until then please, please, just let me get things straightened out here."  Not one of those cold-hearted b******s gave me either a kind word or an inch of respect.  Instead the calls kept coming, as early as 6am and as late as 10pm even after I told them I'd worked in the business and KNEW the laws and knew they couldn't call before 7:30am or after 9:30pm (those are the laws for creditors, survey takers, pollsters, and telemarketers).  This did not faze them one bit, the calls just continued and as the numbers became familiar I ign!
ored them, as they ignored me. 
Anyway, in January of 2007 I sent WFNNB 2 cashiers checks (to San Antonio, Texas where all payments are made) 1 to cover Spiegel/Newport News and 1 for all the others along with 2 death certificates.  They were sent FedEx with both written and phone confirmation of delivery requested.  The checks were made out with up-to-the-minute (for amounts of date they'd be received) totals garnished over mulitple phone calls the day they were cut and sent.  I had also requested that WFNNB send me letters stating the accounts were now settled and closed and I would then send them (FedEx) in return their numerous credit cards shredded by my card shredder, I was NOT about to send the cards to them without proof the accounts were paid off, they had been so nasty to me up until then I wasn't going to give them anything without something first.
I thought everything was just fine until June when I got a call from a collection agency trying to collect from ALL 9 of the WFNNB CC's!!  Man I just about blew a gasget!  I told them first my husband was dead, had died 9 months before, that I sent payment in full for all credit cards in January, sent them via FedEx AND had receipts for both the FedEx and the checks.  They told me they didn't know anything about that I owed a total of $200.00 in interest charges and I needed to make a payment right now, over the phone, or they would go to court and put a lien on my house.  I told them to go ahead as I had all the documentation that the accounts were paid in full, that I had received up to 15 harrassing phone calls a day durring my bereavment and I had a copy of the request I made for a letter stating the accounts were closed.  The collection agency said that WFNNB charged me interest on the accounts (no balance on any of them) because I still had their cards.  I told them i!
f they persisted I would contact the OCC, BBB, the State's Fraud Division, State's Attorney's Office, and anyone else I could think of, that I knew it was illegal to charge interest on a $0 balance and if there was a single smirch on my credit report I'd sue.
Well, the calls stop, there was no letter of appology but there is no balance due on the credit card web sites either, the accounts appear to still be open in spite of the fact I have repeatedly written to have them CLOSE them - I'M NOT THE ACCOUNT HOLDER therefore I cannot close the accounts!!!  HUH??  I sent them 2 copies of my husband's death certificate, he can't very well close these accounts himself, now can he?  And even though my name is NOT on them I was legally responsible to pay them, so you said in Otober and November AND December.  Can someone explain this to me?  Yes, I know, as his widow, I was and am legally responsible for his (personal) and our (mutual) obligation after his death, so if I paid off all his creditors and closed all the other accounts (without my name on them) why is WFNNB being such impossible p****s about this?
PS There is a smirch on MY credit report over the the illegal interest charges on zero balances and I sent my complaints to the OCC, BBB and my State's Attorney, but while I wait for some thing to happen I have a lower credit rating and a longer time to make it higher and I'm fast approaching retirement age.  Don't mess with WFNNB,avoid them at all costs, if you MUST by something from one of their catalog companies then use a mastercard, visa, discover, or debit card or wait until you can send them a check, it simply isn't worth the hassel to open an account with someone who is backed by WFNNB for any reason on earth.

THIS IS AN EMAIL I WAS SENT by a person who says they are with  WFNNB.. I then contacted a real WFNNB  personal and she was very kind and told me there is other people that use WFNNB as a scam so be leary... Here is the email and some address associated with the Scammers....   First of all the people you were talking to were not customer service reps they are COLLECTS reps because you did pay your bill! Their not supposed to bend over backwards for you, YOU OWE WFNNB money so stop complaining and pay up!  now duh anyone would know that a bill collect person would not use an aol account like this person did and also say stop complaining the tone is from a imature kid i say....   Also if you pay your bills you know this would not happen .. i believe this email was connected to another email i replyed to saying i need to give my contact info and other info to a place in japan or united kingdom about a mastercard... HAHA yeah right .... i told them to F* off and stop scamming and shortly after i get this email... so yeah it just goes hand in hand.......

Complaint_against: Lane Bryant

Complaint: I purchased $29.99 worth of merchandise from Lane Bryant on my newly issued credit card. I went online to make my payment. They are claiming that my payment was late, that I didn't register with the site until 7/2/07, when I registered on 7/26/07. My payment was late it was due on 7/23/07, and so I knew I was going to get nailed with a late payment. I paid the entire balance of $45. (I assumed they charged a $15 late fee at that point). This month, I received an email stating I had a balance. They are saying that my original balance was $55 (a $25 late fee) and that I now owe them $11.97. ($10 plus $1.97 finance charge on the late fee, not even merchandise). What a scam. Now if I fight with them long enuf, they'll charge another $25 late fee on top of that, with a bigger finance charge, and so on and so on. I'm going to pay the $11.97 and get out while I can. I was shopping in Peebles and they pestered me about opening an account to pay for my purchases and receive an extra 10% off.  So I agreed, thinking I was dealing with the store itself and NOT WFNNB.  Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later I get a call on my cell phone from WFNNB telling me that I owe a late fee on a bill that I haven't even received yet!  And I could not believe how rude the girl was.  I advised her that I had not even seen a bill yet - but when I did, I would pay it in full and asked her to close my account.  She transferred me.  I closed my account.  Then I started receiving phone calls from their number - pretty much every 10 minutes all day every day.  When I finally received the bill (after it's due date, of course) I paid it in full.  I called WFNNB to see if I was free and clear - the answer was yes.  Now, 3 months later, I get woken up by a phone call saying I owe them 109.00 for late fees!  I told them I had paid in full and would not be giving them a dime.  Again complete rudeness.  They basically have been charging me late fees for late fees for months.  Of course, I haven't heard from them in months.  I thought everything was okay.  Now out of the blue, I get the call.  I'm sorry, but this company WFNNB is an unethical organization at best.  I will quit shopping in any store that uses them for their credit card provider.

Complaint: In December 2006 I made a purchase with my Victoria's Secret credit card. As usual I was expecting a bill, which I never received. I was seriously ill at that time and between my medical treatments, medical bills, and million of other bills did not realize that I never got a bill from Victoria's Secret. Three month later I start getting a strange phone calls at home (during my working hours) with no messages left. Finally I've got a call on Saturday and find out that it was WFNNB, the creditor for VS charge card. I was told that my bill is way overdue. I said I never received a single bill from them, they told me that I signed for an E-Statement on line, and my bills were sent electronically to my E-mail address. I am absolutely sure I never sign for it, I always keep a paper trail of all my transactions, never use electronic statements for any reason. After a long discussion I was able to speak with a supervisor, who was very rude, but at the end we came to an ag!
reement that credit card will waive $20 of late fee and I will pay the rest of the balance. I made my payment with 5 minutes. However, bank did not do their part as they promised, because two month later I received a call from them, stating than I have an outstanding balance of $63 dollars. Since I've made my payment I did not use my VS card at all and I was very surprised to hear it. After another long conversation I found out that $20 late fee was never lifted from my account and acquired an interest. Representative check the notes left on my account, admitted that it was their mistake, made adjustments, and assured me that from now on my account in a good status. Two days ago I went to Victoria's Secret store to buy a present for my daughter's birthday. I've got a "very pleasant" surprise. My credit limit on VS card is $0! I called customer service and was told that this is because I had delinquency on my account, and all they can do is give me $100 credit limit. If withi!
n 6 month I proof that I could be trusted again my credit line will go up. On a top of it I found out that they sent negative report to the credit bureau stating that I was late with my payments twice. I called customer service back and inquired an explanation, they said "Sorry, we will fix this in our computer, your account now with us in a good status, and it is up to you now to contact all three credit bureaus and straight your record." So now I have another job to restore my excellent credit history. After reading all those complains against WFNNB I've realized that I am not alone in my struggle, and that this is the way they doing their business. I think that something should be done about WFNNB, separate cases in small courts will not do any good, and perhaps it should be a class lawsuit.

Complaint:
I had a card through victoria's secret.  I was two months past due and received a call from a WFNNB representative saying if I allowed them to take a first installment of $50 that month and then $20 a month until August, my bill would be caught up with a balance of 0.  I agreed, as I prefered to get this under control at the time.  Each time they took money from my account ($20) they would then add a $7 charge to my Victoria's Secret account.  Late in October I received a letter confirming that my account had been reported as a bad debt.  They told me that I was late again, with payment, and owed them money still.  I could not get ahold of the man who I made the agreement with and the woman I did get a hold of could not see my past history on the account.  I am still fighting with them over this arrangement!

Complaint: Please file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission who regulates collection agencies. I did because I have good credit. I received calls from men with this company at 5:30 a.m. on 8/15/07 and at 5:00 a.m. on 8/16/07. Colleciton companies can't call before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. The first man who had a heavy accent did not identify himself and started out with "how are you this morning"? I hung up thinking it was going to be an obsene call. The next morning a man called and identified himself, saying I owed Victoria Secrets $40. I checked with Victoria Secrets who had not sent a bill to my correct address, paid the bill. I contacted WFNNB, and asked for the complaint department with who I could speak. A rude woman with a heavy accent gave me a PO Box address where she said I could send a letter. That's when I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, which I hope will be more than a blog.

BACK IN MAY OF 2007 I RECEIVED A CATALOG CALLED "WOMAN WITHIN" A NEW NAME FOR LANE BRYANT.  I ORDERED A SWIMSUIT FROM THEM, WITH THEIR WOMAN WITHIN CREDIT CARD.  I RECEIVED THE SUIT BUT NOTICED I WAS ALSO CHARGED FOR A PAIR OF CAPRI'S THAT I NEVER RECEIVED.  ON THE INVOICE WHERE IT SAID "MONEY OWED" IN THAT BOX WAS TYPED "NONE".  A MONTH LATER I RECEIVED A BILL FOR $125.00!  THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE SWIMSUIT PLUS THE CAPRI THAT I NEVER RECEIVED PLUS ADDED LATE CHARGES.  I WROTE THEM A LETTER ADVISING THEM THAT I NEVER RECEIVED THE CAPRI AND ASKED THEM TO EDIT THEIR BILL.  NEXT THING I KNOW I AM HARASSED DAY AND NIGHT BY A COMPANY DEMANDING EVEN MORE THAN THE $125.  ALAS THE AMOUNT KEPT GETTING HIGHER AND HIGHER AND THE COLLECTION COMPANY MAKING THE CALLS WERE EXTREMELY RUDE AND OBVIOUSLY HAD DIFFICULTY UNDERSTANDING THAT I HAD NOT RECEIVED ONE OF THE ITEMS THAT THEY WERE CHARGING ME FOR.  I FURTHER SENT THEM ANOTHER LETTER, WITH PHOTO COPIES OF THE PACKAGING SLIP AND INCLUDE!

Complaint:
Recieved a letter today (9/4/07) stating that I owe $379.00 for an unsettled debt. Tack on their 9.3% interest over an unknown number of years and it totals $1,019.00. I'm beside myself. I have almost perfect credit. Pulled a credit report. No bad marks... none!I attempted to contact NCO Financial Systems (the collectors)by phone for almost 2 hours to resolve this claim. They tell me it's for a Stage account. I told the collector I have never had a Stage account. She attempted to get me to say I was disputing the claim, to which I replied, "there's no dispute" and I told her at least 3 more times that I have never had a Stage account.She told me she was removing my number from the list, to "have a nice day" and hung up on me.

I CALLED WFNNB ABOUT A BILL I RECEIVED FROM DRESSBARN, WHERE THEY WERECHARGING ME A LATE FEE FOR THE MONTH BEFORE THAT WAS STILL OUTSTANDING.I TOLD THEM THAT THE BILL WAS PAID DIRECTLY AT A DRESSBARN STORE LONG BEFORE THE DUE DATE, BUT I GUESS IT WAS NOT PROCESSED BY THE EMPLOYEE AT DRESSBARN. SO ANYWAY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT WFNNB WAS NOT INTERESTED AMD DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT, BECAUSE IT WAS MY PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO THE STORE WHERE I MADE THE PAYMENT AND TAKE IT UP WITH THEM. I WENT BACK TO THE DRESSBARN STORE ONLT TO FIND OUT THAT THEY HAD PUT THE WRONG ACCOUNT NUMBER ON THE PAYMENT RECEIPT. SO I JUST CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT WFNNB AND DRESSBARN HAVE THE MOST INEPT AND INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES WORKING FOR THEM SO I THINK THEY SHOULD DO A CLEAN SWEEP.

Complaint: I recieved a a collection notice from NCO FINANCIAL SERVICES in attemp to collect a debt on a card I have never owned. This is supposed to be a credit card debt from (1988?) I did not even have a card in 1988. I asked to see the information regarding this alledged debt and was denied saying that this letter was all I needed. From 1988 to 2007 and I have never recieved a past due notice from anyone. I smell something that I don't like. I filed for bankruptcy in 1989 and if I had a card debt I would have included it.

Complaint: Late last year, I applied for and received a Stage credit card.  I never once used this card, then all of a sudden, I got a statement for $9.99 for Identity Theft Protection which I never, ever signed up for.  I called to complain about this charge and was told I signed up for it when I applied for the card.  I never did.  So, in February, I cut up my card, wrote them a note to cancel my account and sent it back to them.  I have talked to many, many people who have continuously called at night, week-ends and even holidays.  One man I talked to said that he would take that charge off of that account, but the phone calls still kept coming and I had to explain all of this over and over again.  I guess they are too dumb to note all of the things that had been said previously.  Another phone call--told her again the situation and she looked at the account and said "Ok, here it is, it is in the process of that charge being taken off!"  Now here it is, August 2007, and I! am still getting phone calls.  I did write to the Account Control Fraud in Westerville, Ohio 1-800-888-1726 because a very nice man I talked to gave me this information.  Sure is funny, no one ever gave me any of this information before.  So now the phone calls have started again.  I will definitely report them to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, the BBB, the Federal Trade Commission.  If we all report this fradulant bank to these places, maybe it will put these ignorant people out of business.  Let's do it!!!

Whenever there's these "official sounding banks" with long names that include "national" or "network" - ALWAYS BE LEARY. However, with WFNNB, they are some sneaky j***offs. They kept calling for my wife continuously for a period of three months and sometimes continue to call once in a blue moon.  During WFNNB's circle jerk period in calling our home, it was a different person calling each day...most likely high turnover with any shady "bank" place. Finally, after many female voices calling over those months, some guy calls and he sounds like this big burly putz in a cowboy hat calls up on theanswering machine.  For some reason I got infuriated while he was leaving the message,picked up the phone, perturbed by this kicker's mouth and jumped right up him. I asked this wannabe-cowboy what all of this was about, how come I haven't recieved any letters and all he did was stall me the whole time because I'm not my wife taking the call.  Finally, I told the cowboy-costume-wearing-savant that he'd better send a letter stating what the heck the deal is or "we're going to have one serious problem", meaning I was about to get legal about this mess.  So far we haven't gotten a letter as of yet, nor do they leave messages, but they do love to call and hang up during weird days such as Wednesday, Saturday and Sundy.  WFNNB must be running one serious scam outfit.  None of us have credit cards at the places any of you good people have listed so far.  All we have is our bank card and a Chase card - that's it.  How these morons get their hands in the mess is beyond me.And to those asking why they're still in business because of such low-life practices...consider where they're office HQ is located, if you dig or google around.  That should give people a clue in regards to what comes out of that place.

Complaint: I've been a long-time Lane Bryant customer, both in the retail store and have shopped their various catalogs on-line.  I received a letter the other day telling me that Lane Bryant catalog - not who I originally applied with or received my card from - was changing their name to Woman Within and they'd done a survey and decided that they were giving me one of their credit cards, rather than my Lane Bryant card.  This means that I'm no longer able to shop in the Lane Bryant retail stores.  I tried calling the customer service number on the letter 6 times and sat on hold for over 45 minutes each time before I would finally give up and hang up.  I'm sure this is the intention, this way they don't need to be "bothered" by their own customers!!!  I have a $1,600 plus credit limit, which would indicate that I've been a good and loyal customer.  Always paid my bills on time.  Was at my credit limit and paid off the card, etc.  Good thing, too, because who are they to deci!
de for me that they are going to give me the credit card THEY choose.  Now if I want to shop in the retail store I need to REAPPLY for the card that I originally applied for and received.  I have a better solution - the account is paid off so screw Lane Bryant and screw Woman Within.  I don't need to do business with either one of them!!  Who does this bank think they are.  And as far as I'm concerned this is a SCAM!!  I will be writing a letter to my state's Attorney General to make him aware of this shady business practice.  STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!  They are everywhere because they are the bank for numerous other credit cards.  Be certain when applying for credit that you determine the name of the bank that will be "sponsoring" the card.

Complaint: If there is any one out there that can help me solve this please fill free.  After being involved in a motercycle accident with several broken bones including my neck and back I was unable to work and I had purchased insurance from Value City Furniture. I begain reciving phone calls from wfnnb I tried to explaine my situation that I had been injured and was unable to work.  I was asked WHO was paing my bills I explained that my father was helping me at that point (at this time I have a Halo on my head two broken arms and cant hold the phone by my self) I was told by the person on the phone by the way would not!!give me her name told me when the sued me for everything I owned and would be living on the street in a card board box who was going to help me then.  I could not believe my ears.  At a later date the calls started coming from a Morgain Law Firm not to my suprise the to were just as rude but I settled the dept for 1202.00 and low and behold I have now start!

This bank is almost like a scam. I had a card with them through EXPRESS, and I did miss a few payments. How in the HELL can I settle the deliquent funds when there is NO WAY to contact them?
The only way I even got in touch with them was through a very thorough investigation and now I cannot get ahold of them only a year later.
What is with these companies? Sending us hate mail, phone calls on our weekends. Hey suckers, I am willing to settle old accounts and move on but PERHAPS you should make your information more accessible to your customers. Either that or you're afraid we'd rip you apart like a rabid mob for the POOR A** customer service you so eloquently give us on our weekends. We're working people too you morons.

Complaint: I had two credit cards with them. I had no problems until I got very sick and was out of work for a while. Some of m creditors worked with me but they were one of the few that didn't. That was in 2002. Years later (2006) one of them called my grandmother who has nothing to do with the account and demanded to speak with me. She told them that I did not live there but that she would give me the message when she saw me again. They continued to call her constantly so she got tired of it and finally told them that she had nothing to do with it and to please stop calling her. Well the representative called her a "rude b*tch" then hung up on her. Now my grandmother just tells them I'm dead. I will pay them when they stop harrassing the rest of my family. By the way, Capitol One was the only other creditor that refused to work with me. They are still waiting for payment too.

I am not amazed to see all of the complaints against this company. I find the email from the employee of WFNNB very amusing. Yeah, we all have our own personal problems but we're not just pulling our complaints out of the sky. These are legitimate complaints about fraud,rudness,harassment etc.
My complaint is a long one and it IS a REAL complaint. I called the Roamans company 08/30/07 because I noticed my bill was higher than usual. I asked the customer service rep to send me copies of everything that was purchased on that account since the account was opened and she couldn't. I found this odd,and I asked her what was the last purchase made on the account, she told me there was a $120.47 charge made 8/19/07 but couldn't tell me what was purchased. I told her I haven't made a purchase this year and she then told me to call the WFNNB tomorrow and they can tell me what was purchased and I can report it was a fraudulent charge. She then gave me the number to call. The next day I called the WFNNB number she gave me and spoke to the customer service rep Michael ID # 4463 and explained my situation and the information she gave me. He then tells me that the charge was made 3/19/07 and he couldn't tell me what was purchased, and he cannot access my account and I have to c!
all Roamans for that information. I explained, AGAIN I already spoke to someone from Roamans and they told me to call them (WFNNB). He then tells me that I have to write in to their "Dispute Department" to dispute the charge and someone will investigate the charge. He gave me the address to do so. This makes no sense to me, they cannot access my account but they ARE the bank who is giving me the credit.
In 10 days I receive a letter from Ahsley Hughes telling me that since the charge of $120.47 was made on 3/19/07 and 60 days have passed there's nothing the company can do. Now, tell me what type of BS is this? What kind of legitimate credit company treats their customers like this?
No one from the Roamans company can tell me what was purchased, what the exact date is of the fraudulent purchase, and where was the purchase sent. I am not paying for this fraudulent charge.
Today I go to make an on-line payment and it is not recognizing my information so I call the WFNNB and explain my situation and I ask them what is my account number and they tell me "For security purposes I cannot give you that information" - AFTER I give them all of MY information including my SSN.
ALL OF THIS IS BS.
If you have a complaint make it, contact the BBC,post it here, contact everyone you can about your complaint, don't just lay down and take it. Make your voices heard. This company cannot get away with this.
They are destroying our credit and getting away with it.

I've been sick since 2004 but alway managed to keep my accounts with Roamans and Lane Bryant current until just recently.  Those were not the only accounts I got behind in so I decided rather than constantly struggle I'd do a debt consolidation program.  The other night I got a call from a collector from WWF regarding the Roamans account (i'd just posted a payment 2 days yearlier but it wasn't the minimum amount due but I felt it was better than nothing)this man named Michael was without a doubt one of the rudest people I've ever encounted in my life. I told him I'd just posted a payment a payment and his reply was "WELL IT'S NOT ENOUGH"  then he went on to ask me "WELL WHY AREN'T YOU PAYING YOUR BILLS". At this point I'd has enough and asked to speak to a supervisor to which I was told NO, JUST ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. Enough was enough I just said goodnight and then called back and spoke to a supervisor, I suggested Michale seek a career as a Auto Mechanic or a Professional W!
restler cause he really doesn't have what it takes to work in the Customer Service Arena.
My advise, if you can possible avoid every getting a credit card issued by WFN, but all means do yourself a favor and do everying in your power to avoid that company.

Complaint: This bank is the worse bank to deal with.  If you are smart, get rid of any card associated with this bank.  When I called just trying to get information related to my account they hung up on me.  They don't want to give out any correct phone numbers or addresses where you can contact them.  They open accounts in your name when you do not give them permission.  This is after you have closed the account.  I was hung up on several times because I wanted to know who has been using my card and who was issuing cards in my name.  I can't express how rude this place is.  DO NOT use their cards.  They are tempting because Victoria Secret, Express send you discount cards but they will send out discounts anyway without the card.  Take this as a warning.  If you don't listen, you are on your own.  Good luck.

Complaint: World Financial Network National Bank has been repeatedly calling my home looking for my oldest son who no longer lives with us. I checked with him and he has never heard of these people. They call repeatedly, are rude, and, even when told the person they are looking for doesn't live there, continue to call, three times in four hours yesterday. I've filed a complaint with my state's consumer protection office against them. Hope many others follow suit with formal complaints.

I have a victorias secret credit card and I thought I had completely paid it off and since I was no longer receiving statements I figured that it was gone for good....Well I started receiving calls from an unfamiliar number only to learn that it was the number for this bank.  Then the calls started coming as unknown or private which i don't answer and they never seem to leave a message so I dont have any clue of who it is or what they want.  The calls keep coming night and morning even sundays and saturday nights.  It is insanely ridiculous.  Now i'm getting notices in the mail saying that I owe them 300 bucks when I have never spent that much money at victorias secret.  I would NEVER recommend this company to anybody. It is really ridiculous.

I am writing this complaint while shaking and being very upset and brought to tars by one of World Financial experts.
I have a delinquent account and am aware pf that and am acknowledging that. I spoke several times to one of the representatives when I answer the phone call, Kim Dotson who was always kind. Today I asked her to negotiate with me an 8 week delay in setting up a payment schedule until I resume my duties at the employment I have on and off and until my husband, who is unemployed for four years  gets a job. I explained hitting a hardship and us as non US residents facing numerous restrictions and change of statuses which is not pleasant at times.
I also explained that at the moment I have money borrowed for one more rent, just prevented utilities to be turned off, am struggling with notices and have two minor kids at home and unemployed husband and am between two jobs waiting for papers to come through.
Ms. Dotson kindly transferred me to Ms. Barnes at extension 3576. That person raised tone at me and started screaming at me in the middle of my sentence disregarding all I needed to say. Isn't she supposed to put my words on record??? Including my proposal, or at least to listen to me, if I listened to her. Also, when I asked her to lower her tone because this is not the way to talk to she said: "I CAN USE ANY TONE I WANT TO!!!"  And hung up at me screaming "I WILL NOT WASTE ANY MORE OF MY TIME WITH YOU..." She hung up at me while I was saying that I did not finish saying what I wanted to say.
All I wanted is to see how much time I have to find the money... how long can they wait before setting up the payments schedule ... etc. I received none of these answers. She just hung up at me. When they made that call there was no warning "This call is monitored for quality" ...
This conversation with Ms. Barnes did not last more than six minutes, in which she managed not to listen a word I said, ask few questions. Get my answers and scream at me at the top pf her lungs explaining that she can do as it pleases since I am not paying. What are my rights???? Is she supposed to respect my rights? Is she paid to harass people this way, intimidate and scream at them????
Is it legal to talk to customers this way? Did I sign a contract accepting harassment... rudeness... humiliation... upsetting me.. I will make the payments and as a customer I refuse to be subjected to this kind of humiliation and torture. Needless to say that I cried afterwards. No, I did not and this way I demand apologies and a call from a supervisor of this person, whose name is Ms. BARNES, at extension 3576, and whose supervisor is Ms. Fahrer!
Before going to consumer affairs with a complaint against World Financial violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act I demand apologies for this person's harassment and humiliation and to talk to a normal customer representative I can ask questions and get the answers. I consider a fact that someone calls me, screams me and doesn't want to talk to me a harassment. I don't consider it conducting a business.

I have had the same number for 14 years, I have repeatedly told them that person does not reside here, to which they respond ....'do you have a number where we can reach her '? DUH !! Like if I did, I would turn her number over to you ? I have pleaded with them, I have yelled at them, I have cursed them, I tried to reason with them...all to no avail. I started to record the times and dates of there calls to turn over to the Arkansas Attorney Generals office. I would encourage any others with similar experiences, do not lay down and do not roll over for these incompetent, immoral phone soliciting a55holes. Fight back and turn them in to whatever agency monitors harrassing phone calls in your state.

Complaint: I made a purchase with Friedman's jewelers and charged it to my card with World Financial network national bank.  I thought I was getting a good deal by using the 12 months interest free.  What I didn't understand was when I paid several months ahead, I was charged a whopping $29 each time I didn't make the min. for each month.  I had this charged to my account several times even though I was way ahead my scheduled payments.  That is a sneaky way of getting you to pay their steep finance charges.  I would say it is close to being a loan shark operation.  Just beware of the fine print because it is certainly not made clear at the time of purchase.

Recieved a letter today (9/4/07) stating that I owe $379.00 for an unsettled debt. Tack on their 9.3% interest over an unknown number of years and it totals $1,019.00. I'm beside myself. I have almost perfect credit. Pulled a credit report. No bad marks... none!I attempted to contact NCO Financial Systems (the collectors)by phone for almost 2 hours to resolve this claim. They tell me it's for a Stage account. I told the collector I have never had a Stage account. She attempted to get me to say I was disputing the claim, to which I replied, "there's no dispute" and I told her at least 3 more times that I have never had a Stage account.She told me she was removing my number from the list, to "have a nice day" and hung up on me.

SO ANYWAY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT WFNNB WAS NOT INTERESTED AMD DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR IT, BECAUSE IT WAS MY PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO THE STORE WHERE I MADE THE PAYMENT AND TAKE IT UP WITH THEM. I WENT BACK TO THE DRESSBARN STORE ONLT TO FIND OUT THAT THEY HAD PUT THE WRONG ACCOUNT NUMBER ON THE PAYMENT RECEIPT. SO I JUST CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT WFNNB AND DRESSBARN HAVE THE MOST INEPT AND INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES WORKING FOR THEM SO I THINK THEY SHOULD DO A CLEAN SWEEP.

Complaint: I recieved a a collection notice from NCO FINANCIAL SERVICES in attemp to collect a debt on a card I have never owned. This is supposed to be a credit card debt from (1988?) I did not even have a card in 1988. I asked to see the information regarding this alledged debt and was denied saying that this letter was all I needed. From 1988 to 2007 and I have never recieved a past due notice from anyone. I smell something that I don't like. I filed for bankruptcy in 1989 and if I had a card debt I would have included it.

Complaint: Late last year, I applied for and received a Stage credit card.  I never once used this card, then all of a sudden, I got a statement for $9.99 for Identity Theft Protection which I never, ever signed up for.  I called to complain about this charge and was told I signed up for it when I applied for the card.  I never did.  So, in February, I cut up my card, wrote them a note to cancel my account and sent it back to them.  I have talked to many, many people who have continuously called at night, week-ends and even holidays.  One man I talked to said that he would take that charge off of that account, but the phone calls still kept coming and I had to explain all of this over and over again.  I guess they are too dumb to note all of the things that had been said previously.  Another phone call--told her again the situation and she looked at the account and said "Ok, here it is, it is in the process of that charge being taken off!"  Now here it is, August 2007, and I! am still getting phone calls.  I did write to the Account Control Fraud in Westerville, Ohio 1-800-8 because a very nice man I talked to gave me this information.  Sure is funny, no one ever gave me any of this information before.  So now the phone calls have started again.  I will definitely report them to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, the BBB, the Federal Trade Commission.  If we all report this fradulant bank to these places, maybe it will put these ignorant people out of business.  Let's do it!!!

Complaint: I had a Victoria's Secret credit card with WFNNB.  I received a statement 03/22/08 with 2 late fee charges.  I called to clear this with them since I haven't received a statement from them in months.  They told me that I signed up for the e-statements, which I did not, and also have never received any statements online.  I was able to get both late fees waved, although I had to pay a $7 over the phone payment charge.  I immediately was transfered to customer service to close my account.  The woman I spoke with tried once again to tell me I signed up for e-statements.  I do not reccomend this bank to anyone!

Ok, these people from WFNNB are outrageous!!!!! They call constantly, all times of the day, not to mention WEEKENDS!!! Give it a break, obviously people will send the $$ when they can..... Anyway, I did not receive my first statement from them, and did not think anything of it since it was only an $85 purchase. So, I finally ge a dtatement, saying that i was past due with my payment and it was due IMMEDIATELY. Well, after looking at the statement and the card, they don't have a website....so i called them. After 30 minutes and a payment later, the guy finally gave me the website for New York & Company.  I paid my account in full, and will not be using it again, or obtaining any card that they represent. I don't have time for foolishness or rude people!

I received a phone call today stating that my account is 2 months past due.  I told the person that I have not received a bill and he stated that I signed up for online bill statements, which I know I did not, since I prefer to receive paper statements.  Back in January I called because I received a late fee for a payment that I made in enough time to pay my bill prior to being late and it took your company several weeks to process, I am sending you the dates that I made the online payment, when the bank sent it and when the credit was made to my account (payment made 12/18/07, delivered & withdrawn 12/21/07 and not applied by NY&Co. until 1/4/08).  I received a credit for the late fee and then 2 months later I am still having a problem with your company.  I now have 2 months of late fees on my account and this also goes toward my credit report.  I have been receiving paper statements until I called in January regarding the late fee charge and I haven't received one since, which makes me think your company signed me up for online statements.  I don't know what is going on but I have never had this problem with NY & Co. before and as you can tell I have been a good customer for many years.  I am hoping that we can come to a resolution, if not; you leave me no other choice than to cancel my account with NY & Co.

Complaint: Tried calling the customer service number for 3 days, it would only give me the automoted options.  Finally today 4/4/08 i was able to reach someone in INDIA, THEY CANNOT UNDERSTAND YOU AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY, THEY CONTINUE TO READ FROM A SCRIPT.  My son who was under 18 took out an Express credit card.  He lost his part time job, moved out of the area, and has a small balance, which is made up of the $20.00 fees.  Being a responsible adult, and trying to set an example, i called the bank and asked if they would abate some of the fees i would pay and settle the account. My son had a $40.00 balance in November 2007, and now as of 3/31/08 his balance is $127.54.  I tried to explain to the bank that it would cost them more to try to go into collection, asked if they would work with me i would settle it.  TO NO AVAIL, I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DISCUSS THIS WITH ME, EVEN THOUGH THEY BROUGHT UP THE ACCOUNT ONLINE, AND I GAVE THEM MY SON'S SOCIAL.  THEY ARE A BUNCH O!F IDIOTS THAT IS WHY OUTSOURCING IS THE DEATH OF AMERICA.

Complaint: My whole dealing with Lane Bryant and WFNNB has been a Nightmare! In March of `07 I made my final payment and closed the account for good. Then A couple of months ago I run my credit and found it still reporting and with at 800 balance. I contacted Lane Bryant and they could not find any account by my name, social, or telephone number. They told me they would have an account specialist look into it and clear it up. THIS NEVER HAPPENED! I called back again and again each time getting " You do not have an account with us." Finally I got someone who said Lane Bryant had switched banks and were not longer with WFNNB. They gave me a number to call, I called them and I had no account with them. MY account had been given over to a third company and they were holding it in collections. After 5 phone calls i finally got someone who would talk to me about my account. They only would take a credit/debit payment. So it's now April of 08 and I finally got the account I thought!
 I closed in March of 07 paid off and closed for good.

first as a manager i had to call this company weekly to have customers accounts fixed. they would charge late fees to customers accounts just because they made it into the store at 5pm on the day the payment was due, they stated the payments should have been made by 12noon but of course the time would always change everytime i had to call. my employees and myself would set customers up on six months no intress or 12 months no intress and when they would get the first statement it would be changed to revolving and we would have to fight with them to change it back and to credit them back the intress. as a customer my account was going good at first i was set up on a 12 month no intress plan and on my 12month i called to get my pay off because i noticed they had added intress, the lady told me the intress was for a charge back in oct but i told her the charge was returned, she could see the return and said it would be fixed and for me to pay it full and they would credit me b!ack! i said no! show the credit and i will pay it off. after making 11 perfect payments on this account ready to pay it off in full they still would not credit me back the intress. day after day of speaking with these people they added more intress dating back for the entire 12 months and demand i pay it. i told them i wanted to dispute the charges they said they would make notes on the acount and now they are saying i passed the 6 months to dispute so now i can't but she can see the notes on the account that i wanted to dispute the chagres dated in nov 07. this company only makes there money by intress so they add it to your account. what is the point in offering 6 or 12 months zero intress if you are going to put it on the account regardless. now i will be contacting the ago bbb ftc occ. today i received a call asking if i was willing topay off the amount that i thought i owed and i said yes this lady then said to me are you willing to pay knowing you will still have a bal!ance of the intress? how studid do you have to be to have her job?

Complaint: Got a charge on my account of 2.24 or 5.24 in March 2007 (customer service rep won't explain the charge) after I paid off in February,2007. DID NOT notify me of the charge at all in any form of communication (emails, letters, statements, etc). I didn't used the card until this past weekend, June 2008. Got rejected at the counter and my online order was also refused. Confused, I called the number on the back of the card and found out about the card mentioned above. Was told that I received email notices (BS and a lie, email account have 5 gb capacity, simple search turned up no results) and that ! there are no statements for low balance accounts. Would not rescind the $15 or $18 in finance charges. What's worst is that that one item pulled my credit down 80 points from the look of my credit report!!!!! For all you defenders of the company out there, please defend this one. Customer Service was rude and unresponsive, far from Citi or American Express card that I usually use. The attitude is down right insulting. I have estatements set up for all my accounts, and I get notification in my email every month regarding their statements, so they are going to tell me that they can't send a simple notification for a statement? I hope the company goes down or Alliance Data System do a reshuffling of the staff at the company. At the minimum, everyone need to be retrained on treatment of customers. I have filed charges at OCC, FTC, FDIC, State Attorneys, and BBBs. I have also contacted executive at Express and Limited Brands and ask them to removed WFNNB as a vendor.

Complaint: I just received the 20th call from WFNNB for a person I don't even know! I've tried explaining that to the people on the other end of the line, but to no avail, just a different person calls. This morning, I hit the end of my rope. After the telemarketer asked for the person and I explained they didn't live at my number, and that I had already explained this on more than one occassion, the telemarketer got really rude and told me that this was his first time calling. I asked for the company he worked for, his name, his supervisors name, and a number at which I could call the company to once and for all clear this up. He re! fused to give me anything more than WFNNB and that his name was Joel. How rude! Does anyone know a number where I can actually reach a person to explain this to? I've tried all the 1 800's and the 614 number, but since I'm not an account holder (thank God!) I can't get past the machines!

Complaint: I have tried to get this company to QUIT calling my house, looking for one of my GROWN children that doesn't live here. Their excuse.... she called them from my number, thus they "grabbed" it then. I keep telling them to stop, but they won't. When I tell them that I USED to do collections and am well aware of the debt collection laws (I worked for a reputable company that did NOT harass people, and only wanted to work out what they could pay), they then said that my number would be removed.... SURPRISE.... less than two hours later, they called again. I told them that they have the wrong number, and then called their customer se! rvice back...NOT their collections department, stating I wanted to file a complaint against their collections dept. I gave the worker my phone number, my FIRST name only (they dont' need to know my full name, since I don't have an account with them), informed them that I was NOT responsible for my grown children's debts, they were being informed to "CEASE AND DESIST" calling my number - to contact their customer by mail if necessary, and leave me alone. They again "assured" me that they were removing my number from their registry. I then nicely informed them that if they called my number just ONE more time, I will file a lawsuit against them. I have VONAGE, and ALL incoming numbers are listed as well as calls made. I WILL be following this up with a certified letter telling them this also. That is ALL the proof I need to sue them.... and WIN. Oh, and the number for their customer service department is  You will get custogmer service person on the phone DIRECTLY without entering an account number or social security number. This will help all those of you out there that do not have an account with them, yet are harassed for someone elses account. Oh, and I will also be filiing a complaint with my state's Dept of Consumer Affairs too.

Complaint: I have been in hell with this company for several weeks. I applied for one of those instant credit cards at Eddie Bauer in order to get a discount. Apparently my address was entered into the system incorrectly so I have never received a statement nor have I received the card. Yet these people continue to call and are extremely abusive and hostile. Now, I'm a person with a stellar credit rating who always pays her credit card bills in full. I have called their "customer service" line only to get yet another person who insisted that I pay over the phone with NO documentation and NO account number. I do not know the! account number because I have never received the card or a statement! I refuse to pay anything to anyone without the proper documentation. Then I was told by the rude man on the phone that I could only talk to "customer service" if I gave them both my work and cell phone numbers. I actually found that very funny. Like I'm going to let these people abuse me at work and over my cell while I'm paying for the minutes. The hostile guy finally put me through to "customer service." The customer service rep did promise to remove the late fees and send me a statement to my corrected address -- we'll see if that actually happens. If not, I will contact the FTC, the BBB and all three credit reporting agencies. I have to disagree with what some other posters have said about not holding the retailer responsible. These retailers chose this company to represent them. Yet it is very clear from both this site and whocalled.org that they are harassing the companies' customers. I have written a letter to Eddie Bauer explaining my experiences with their representative and stating that I will never shop at Eddie Bauer again because of those experiences. The companies that do business with this incredibly disruptable firm should face the consequences as well. Eddie Bauer has lost a valuable customer and any time I am offered an instant credit card in a store, I will check to see if the card is from WFNNB. If it is, I will refuse the offer and tell the store personnel why. This company's practices are dispicable and they should be stopped. The way to make that happen is through their customers, the retail stores. I urge everyone to contact the store you have a credit card with and let them know that as long as they have a relationship with this horrible organization, you will not carry a credit acount with them and you will not shop in their stores.

Complaint: I tried to contact this bank by mail to let them know that I no longer wanted to receive my credit card statemnt from Lane Bryant sent to me online, but that I wanted it mailed to me, but they are still sending it online.I feel that since I wrote them and asked them to mail me my statement that I should not have to pay a late charge. I like the thousands of other people who are against their practices would appreciate any information that you could give me to fix this situation.

Complaint: I have had these cards for sometime until WFNNB purchased these Redcat accounts about 2 yrs ago. I have had to result in sending ALL payments via USPS Delivery Confirmation as they insist on posting my payments when they wish....ALWAYS after the due date, to incur late fees. I have to submit the info showing the time and date the payments were received and then they reverse the late fees. But, this happens at least 9 times a year. The Customer Relations Specialist, Kim Bostic, advised me that I should send each bill separate so their billing personnel can handle one at a time. They cannot handle the four together with each statement, check, etc....but they will handle more mail. Hardly. They never admit they do anything wrong and always stick with their personnel. Try talking to them on the telephone and you are in the twilight zone. None of their staff answers any question you ask. They have also not sent bills to me, but I always note when their accounts are due as I am aware of the attempt to extort late fees when I pay ontime and regularly. I have alerted the Attorney General in Ohio of these practices, but as long as they "correct" them there is no reason to investigate. They own so many accounts that even if you do not sign on to one of their accounts, you may have accounts taken over by them. I just got a notice another account of mine is not theirs. Be very careful of these people, they play stupid and ignorant, but are in it for the money. I have stopped using these cards and will pay them off ASAP just to avoid this turmoil from such a deceptive, crooked business.

Complaint_against: My World Master Card/ World Financial Network National Bank

Complaint: My World Master Card is owned or part of World Financial Network National Bank. I’ve had this card for several years and often received no statement, To prevent added interest and a poor credit rating, I’ve paid on the account with no statement for months and now have a positive balance as a result - they owe me money. This was learned from a phone call to them today. The interest being changed is 25% and I have earned 14,655 points (found out today) to redeem through their rewards program. But, they won’t let me do it. I’ve been told the MWMC that I have to use the rewards web site, but it rejects my ID and password. I’ve called the rewards company and they tell me that I have to call MWMC. I have been back and forth all for hours. Each party says they can do nothing about the other party. This isn’t new. The same problem has been going on for years with this same credit card company. We have been asking about those points for years. It’s just today that I have become insistent. This is a dirty trick designed to keep people from cashing in on those points that they promise - at 25% interest. It’s a scam. Does anyone out there know how to force this issue? Is there an agency handling this kind of complaint?

Complaint: Add my name to the list of people who want to start a class action lawsuit against these morons. I have just created a Facebook Group - "Get Back at WFFNB". I think if we all get together we can beat these guys. Any attorney out there who wants to get the ball rolling? My story started when I bought $338 worth of clothing at Express. I paid $150 on my bill in May, then made 3 monthly payments of $50 each for the next 3 months. Then I got a call from these rude creeps telling me that I owed $186 on my account - and pay up right now. I told them that I did not owe that much - that the most I owed was less than $50, and I wanted a statement to that effect. Upon receipt of the statement I would be glad to pay the (correct) balance. They told me that they had no record of my initial $150 payment. Some of the "Representatives" tell me they cannot look any further than 3 months' worth of payments, so they cannot "see" my $150 payment, others tell me it was not made. I even had one fool tell me that just because MY bank said it was paid didn't mean that WFFNB got the payment! My bank statement clearly shows the correct account number and payee. I have a statement from my bank clearly showing the $150 payment, but have nowhere to send it to. I emailed WFFNB and got a kiss off reply saying I owe the money - pay up. I have been called a liar and a deadbeat, and have been told I am shirking my obligations. I don't know what to do about these guys. They call 3 or 4 times a day, 7 days a week, and I keep trying to explain that I do not owe them the amount they say I do. But then they keep on adding late fees and interest and such. I'm getting ready to file a complaint with the FTC, and will gladly join any class action suit against these creeps.

Complaint: I had an account with Chadwicks that uses WFNNB. Times got tough money wise, and a very sick child in the family. I have now been getting calls for 3 months straight, EVERY day! On the weekend when I have 1 day to sleep in they call early in the morning and the calls go on all day. They call every day, at least 7 times or more. I told the 1 guy that I just didn't have the money and to stop calling me. I told him that repeatedly calling me is not going to make the money appear. He then said "OK, thank you-we'll just keep calling". It got to the point where I asked the one woman that called "What part of I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY" do you not understand? and just hung up on her. You would think that after 3 months of EVERY day, they would get the hint that I can't pay them. Enough is enough.

Complaint: I have had two revolving accounts with Spiegel and it's bank and have had an excellent payment record with both and always paid more than the minimum amount due. With the first one and without notice, Spiegel decided they were no longer satisfied with the agreement with the bank and decided to suspend business with them. The bank then decided to increase the finance charges with all card holders. I closed the account. I should have known better, but eventually opened the second account. After an excellent payment record, as previously stated, I mistakenly sent a check on an account I had with mother instead of my individual account that was at the same bank but was closed when she died. This was clearly my mistake. Instead of just trying to reach me like they do when they have some product, program or sale they want to sell or promote, they put me in "collection" status and, unknown to me, closed the account. When I made the payment over the phone I indicated to the person that, as a show of good faith, I was going to almost double my normal payment. She indicated everything was fine with the account. I then received notice in the mail that the account had been closed. I called the bank and spoke to a nice person who told me that, unfortunately, their practices are one size fits all and that I could pay off the account and then try to open another one in about six months. Needless to say, I told them to close it permanently and make a note that no one from the company is to ever contact me about opening another account. I know people lie and try to scam institutions but believe these companies should at least look at a person's history with them instead of hurting the person's credit rating, especially considering the economy and the power they have over people in an economy like we have.

Complaint: I have been harassed for over 3 months now, EVERY day! The calls start early in the morning and continue all day, once an hour, if no one answers. This goes on 7 days a week. I talked to them and explained that financially I just don't have the money now and we have a seriously ill 1 yr old we are dealing with. The guys response was "We will just keep calling you". I asked them what part of "I don't have the money" don't you understand? I was being called at work and on my cell phone too. I NEVER gave them either phone number. I was assured that they would not call them any more and lo and behold, they called my cell phone again yesterday after a month of no calls on it. Today, I filed a formal complaint against them as a national bank, with the US depf of Treasury, Admin. of Nat'l Banks. I've had it with their harassment!

Complaint: Yes, I was charged a late fee. Yes, I used the credit card and quite enjoy my purchases. Now for the kicker, I made the payment! Knowing I would be traveling when the payment would be due, I went online and set up a payment early. At the time, my next statement was due to come out (the one with the purchase). So I made a payment well over minimum since the amount due was showing as $0 just to cover my a$$. While I'm on vacation, my phone blows up with calls from WFNB. They start the day after my due date, with 5-7 calls per day, and of course no message. I return and wonder WTF?? So I log on (being too late to call customer service) and it appears I'm late. So I authorize a payment to stop the calls, and send along a message asking just what happened. Apparently, the payment posted prior to the statement and therefore was not seen as the payment due for July. So, I'm at fault because I tried to pay early? Tried to keep the credit gods happy, planned early for my vacation so all my bills would be covered? They have yet to remedy the situation. I know credit is harder and harder to come by these days, but I'm more than prepared to pay in full and close my account. I like to use the card to earn "points" in the form of coupons a few times a year, but it's not worth the harassment of phone calls when one idiot at the company should have been able to see my payment activity and used some common sense. So the moral is, yes yes yes, credit card companies can be wrong. Who knew an early payment required harassing calls all day long??? My fault for trying to be a good user of credit.

Complaint: Macy's call my house at least five times a day including Sunday's. They start calling around 9:00 a.m. every three to four hours. I do work so why would they call when peope are working. I try to make payments when I can. The continous harassing phone calls are becoming very irritating. This is the only corporation that calls consistently even when partial payments are made. I feel if a customer is making paymnents why harrass them.

Complaint: I paid off my American Furniture bill as agreed, but my account had a small balance left on it and it was turned over to WFNNB who listed my account as "adverse" with the credit bureau. I paid my account as agreed, and was not notified of any remaining balance. I sent a letter to dispute this with WFNNB, and received my letter back in the mail.

Complaint: I opened an Ann Taylor credit account in early 2007. I got my statements fine at first and paid a least (usually much more) the minimum payments on time. Around the end of 2007, I stopped getting the statements completely. I have so many other cards that I really didn't notice that I was missing one for a few months. They finally called me and asked me why I was not paying my bills. I told them that I was not getting any statements from them. During the conversation with the Ann Taylor credit representative I discovered that they for some reason were not including my apart! ment number on my statements any more. I corrected them and gave them my bank account information so it could be paid in full, which it was. Upon checking my credit report, this account is now listed as "bad debt/collection". I am very confused and to how their addmitted mistake of removing part of my address from the billing statement so I wouldnt get them for several months and then my willingness to pay off the account in full at that time is now putting my credit score at risk by reporting it as a bad debt/collection. What is up with that BS?

Complaint: Beginning in January, 2010 Worl Financial Network National Bank will charge $1.00 for each paper statement received. I believe this discriminates unfairly against the poor, elderly and rural population who do not have access to a computer for online billing/payments.

Complaint: They called me because I missed a payment. The only reason I missed it was because they e-mails were going into my junk folder. I made an automatic payment over the phone for $10. They charge you $10 to make a payment. So basically I paid the $10 and it went straight towards a fee, not towards the balance. When I called to complain about this, they said that they had to go back and listen to the tapes to see if I was informed about the fee. They said they would get back to me in 30 days. 60 days later they are still charging me and have not gotten back to me.

Complaint: For the past year I have been receiving as many as 10 to 20 calls per day from WFNNB searching for someone who does not and NEVER has had my phone number. After repeatedly telling the RUDE and OBNOXIOUS employees of this bank that I am not the person they seek, I finally mailed a "Cease and Desist" letter to WFNNB demanding they stop calling. Acknowledging receipt of my "certified" letter did nothing but increase the harassing phone calls. I sent complaint letters to the FCC and Attorney General's Offices in five states, who forwarded by complaints to the Comptroller of Banks (U.S. Treasury). They contacted the! bank about my complaint and I received an apology letter from WFNNB assuring me my number would be removed from their system. Not true!! When I told the man from WFNNB that I had received a letter from the bank apologying to me, he said "I don't care who you got a letter from, I will continue to call and harass you." We all need to ban together and bring a class action lawsuit against this institution.

Complaint_against: World Financial Network National Bank

Complaint: I opened a credit card with the Company Store in or around December of 2009. In January, I set up my billing payments so that I could use my Chase checking account to send electronic payments. I attempted to make my first payment in January. After a few weeks I received a phone call telling me my payment was late. I thought this was odd as I had made an electronic payment, so to avoid being late further, I made a payment over the phone for an additional $10. I called my bank and asked them what the problem was. They said that they had difficulty connectin! g electronically to the Company Store's bank, so they sent a paper check on my behalf. The payment did not make the due date, which is why I was considered late. As I had already made a payment on the phone, I stopped the payment on the check that was sent by my bank. I called up to find out why the bank for the Company Store would not accept my electronic check. After about an hour on the phone and being passed along by at least three totally uninterested customer service people, I spoke to a supervisor who told me and I quote "Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, when people try to pay by electronic check." I find this pretty appalling in the 21st Century...further, they said that they would not accept any electronic checks from me for three months as my last check had been returned. I pointed out the fact (trying not to scream at this point) that the reason my check had been returned was because a) their company's bank would not accept my electronic payment and ! b) I had already made a payment over the phone, and paid an additional ten dollars, which is why I put a stop payment on the check that was mailed by my bank. They basically told me too bad, it's already in the system and can't be reversed. I was so angry I wrote them a check for $150--the minimum payment being $14--just so I would not have to worry about this for a while. Mind you, at this point, I am trying to give them my money. I have $3,000 in my checking account, so it's not like I have a problem paying my bills. So...two months goes by. I was wondering why I did not receive any invoices but figured that because I had sent $150 in January that would be the reason. I did not dwell on it too much as I work full time for a law firm and I have a son with ADHD in 5th grade...my plate is full. I received a call from the Company Store's collection department at the crack of dawn on Sunday announcing that I was 60 days past due and my account was in collections. I asked why I had not been notified 30 days prior...no answer. I asked where were my! invoices, and they told me I had signed up for electronic invoices. I had never signed up for electronic invoices, I checked my account with them to make sure. I had received none. They said that isn't their problem, they sent the notices. I searched my inbox, including deleted items...no invoices. Now my credit rating has been damaged because of these people. Further, I sent them my balance in full electronically as I never plan to do business with them again. I got another call from them saying they still had not received my money, so I called to find out why, since the three months was up and I should have been able to send an electronic payment. I was told--WE DO NOT ACCEPT ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS FROM ANY OTHER BANK BUT OUR OWN. When I demanded an explanation as to why I had not received my invoices, paper or electronic, and what about the late charges that were not my fault, and why was I told I could make an electronic payment after the three month period the supposed p! enalty of which was not my fault either, and now they were telling me they never accepted them in the first place, the gum-chewing man in collections who was aggressive, unsympathetic, and downright rude, told me "I don't know, it's not my problem. We sent you invoices." Ironically, yesterday I received my first paper statement in three months. I am appalled at the shabby treatment that stems from a poorly-run company that is not working in synch with their bank. I have read many accounts of others who have received late fees in this same way, were billed with items they never purchased, and a variety of other outrageous items that constitute FRAUD. My credit rating has been damaged due to errors and ineptitude on the part of this company. I paid the balance in full (once again, my bank had to send them a check) because I never want anything to do with them again. If there was ever a candidate for a class-action lawsuit, it's this bank. Interestingly, after filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I happened to notice that they giv! e the WFNNB an A+ rating on their website--obviously they are being paid to look the other way. If you google this bank's name, along with the words "complaints, fraud, late fees", etc,there are hundreds of complaints that would sour anyone's Better Business Bureau rating.
