Complaint: I opened a new line of credit at Old Navy to purchase a sale item
for $14.00. When I sent payment, Old Navy claimed it was late. They have
added $22.00 on to the bill for late fees. What a deal! I will never shop at
any Old Navy again! |

Complaint: Old Navy was running a deal that if you applied for their credit
card and put the amount of your purchase on the card, you would get a
discount. So we did this, however, it was early December, the christmas
season, and we forgot about it. We never received a bill or the card, but
eventually received a call in February, which the caller ID read as "Unknown
Number", stating that they were from Old Navy, my paypent was overdue, and
they added on a late fee. We asked them to please mail us a bill so that we
could pay it but we weren't comfortable paying by credit card over the phone
to someone who says they were from old navy but had no way to prove it. They
agreed that this was fine. A couple weeks later, still no bill, then we get
another call saying the same thing. We tell them the same thing and
re-verify our address. A couple weeks go by, then ANOTHER CALL! Now they
transfered us to a collection agency and the late fees are more than the
original bill. For some r!
eason they refused to mail us either the bill or the card, but continued to
call us, up to 5 times a day, to tell us we needed to pay over the phone. We
have gotten it paid now because we don't want this on our credit report, but
it is ridiculous that we have to pay for their mistakes and yet, WE STILL
HAVE NOT SEEN EITHER A BILL OR THE CARD! |

Complaint: I have been very unhappy with my experience with Old Navy. We
moved in November of last year (eight months ago). At that time, I sent Old
Navy a change of address. Since that time, I have not received a statement
and incurred late fees. I have called a total of 5 times to update my
address information. Each time, I was told that matter was corrected and I
should receive a bill. Finally, I used Suntrust online bill pay to begin
managing my Old Navy account. Their bill pay service has all of the
information available for you. In April, I cancelled this card. Again, I
asked them to send me a bill. Still no bill...I cut up the card and decided
to just continue to pay online. Today, my husband and I consolidated our
credit debt. I contacted Old Navy to get the mailing address to send our
payment in full. I also needed them to give me my account number. I was told
they could not give account information over the phone. I thought this was
the reason we provided them our !
social security number, mother's maiden name, and etc. This experience has
made me decide that I will no longer get credit cards from GE Moneybank who
is the parent company of many credit cards. |

Complaint:
My account number was changed due to stolen checks, and I issued a new check
the same day and old navy was called and told what had transpired with my
account. Four weeks later there was a notice for a $20 fee for a returned
check. So I called again on December 1, and Old Navy supposedly straightened
out the matter that day, but now my account is turned over to Ge Money. I am
very upset and this is hurting my credit. Is there someone I can contact
about this problem. |

Complaint:
Old Navy makes it very difficult to pay their bill except by mail. I was
late twice and they canceled my card even though I was a long-time customer
and didn't tell me they were going to do so! To top it off, they reported
it to the credit bureau and it's the only thing that has ever been late in
my life!
When they called, the balance was $60 and I paid it on the phone with the
guy from India. I had tried to pay it online through another bill paying
service, but it wouldn't take it two months in a row and the customer
service person did not know why. And was no help at all.
I will not shop there ever again. They are ripping people off by charging
them late fees because of the inconvenience of their bill paying. The stores
know it as I've discussed it with the cashiers on more than one occasion.
Now they are reporting it to the credit bureaus as late which hugely affects
you credit score!!! Better Check it out.
I'm so sorry I ever charged anything with them - the $5 coupons weren't
worth it and that's the understatement.
If everyone would boycott their stores, they just might be forced to change
their policies.

Complaint_against: OLD NAVY!
Complaint: Back in May I decided to sign up for an Old Navy credit in order
to get a discount on my purchase. I filled out the info, verified it with
the cashier, and went on my way. I had only put 37.04 on the card and new I
would have no problem paying it once I recieved my statement. However a
month went by and there is no card or bill. I called Old Navy to find out
that my address was incorrect. I gave them my corrected address, and
thought nothing more about it. Then 3 months later I recieve a message at my
work, and after calling back it was some sketchy so called collections
agency telling me that I need to pay them money. I wasn't sure what was
going on so I called Old Navy AGAIN and some how my address was back to the
incorrect one. I corrected it again, and told them that I wanted a bill in
the mail, and that I was not going to pay anything over the phone. Hmmm a
month later, no card, NO BILL! They are killing my credit score! OLD NAVY
SUCKS! |

I had an old navy card and did not like the way they do buisness! They make
it difficult for you to get your bill paid. Their statements are always
screwed up and they turn you to collections for no reason. One month
everything was fine and the next I had collections calling me! I wish I had
never got a card with them. you would think a major company like that would
be a little professional! |

Complaint_against: old navyComplaint: Old
Navy is very unprofessional in their credit card business- on line
payments are recorded late or lost- mail in payments are recorded
late and this almost always incurs late fees for the customer. They
should be evaluated by the better business bureau or the state
attorney generals office. Will not do business their again- products
are sub standard anyway. |

Complaint_against: Old NavyComplaint: In
November 2008, my wallet was stolen. Unfortunately, this also
included my Old Navy credit card. Whoever stole it maxed out the
card, totaling over $2000. When I got my new card, I called to
dispute the 5 charges that had been made. They canceled the new
card, and when I activated it and checked my account, only 3 of the
charges had been disputed. The remaining charges totaled about $800.
I called back to dispute them, and they said they would cancel my
card again and that it was taken care of.. I got the new card,
checked my account, and they were STILL on there! I call! ed back
once again, and they told me it takes some time to go through (even
though the other 3 went through right away, and I disputed them at
the same time) and that I should wait it out. The next day, I tried
to use my card, and it was declined. I went home and checked my
account and found that I had been charged a $35 late fee. I called
and asked to speak to a supervisor right away. She told me I didn't
make my payment for November. I checked my bank account, and my
check had, indeed, been cashed. I told her about the mess I'd gone
through with multiple credit cards and said I wrote the original
account number on the check. She checked the original account and
said they received it, but it didn't go through. I tried to tell her
that my bank was showing it was cashed and went through. (There's no
reason why it shouldn't have.) She said I had to contact my bank and
have them fax over a copy of my statement, proving it went through,
and that my account would be closed for 4! 8 hours and then it would
go through if everything was okay. She also said they would send me
something to fill out to dispute the charges that had been made.
It's been a week, and my account is still closed - I can't even see
what's going on - and I haven't received anything in the mail. I'm
about to call them again, and I'm seriously thinking of filing a
lawsuit. Not only will I never shop at Old Navy or affiliated brands
again, but I have been telling everyone I know my story! |

Complaint_against: Old Navy store credit card
Complaint: In a nutshell: I gave in and got one of
those store credit cards they're always harassing you to get. I
spent probably $50-$100 a month at Old Navy on this card. Then I
moved and gave Old Navy my new address, but statements never came
and now I have a $25 late fee. There's no way to dispute this charge
apparently because their idea of "customer service" is a bunch of
pre-recorded phone menus. I paid it and then cut up my card. They
just scammed me out of $25. This card has cost me more money than it
has saved me! I am so disgusted, I'm never shopping there again.
What a SCAM!! |

| Deceived and Angry |
| Complaint_against: Old Navy
Complaint: I went into an Old Navy store for the
first time in my life about 6 weeks ago. I found some clothes that
seemed to be a pretty good deal. When I went to the check-out, the
cashier asked me if I wanted to open an Old Navy account and get a
discount on that day's purchases -- I think it was a 20% discount
but I can't remember. I EXPLICITLY ASKED HER IF IT WAS A CREDIT
CARD, AND SHE SAID NO. I therefore signed up, thinking that the
worst that could happen was I'd start getting more mail from them
with coupons or ads or whatever. I gave her my other credit card,
also a Visa card, which I thought I was using to pa! y for those
purchases that day. It looked to me like she ran my credit card
through the machine, but I admit I might have been distracted by my
companion at the time. I guess I didn't look at the receipt closely
enough to see that the charges were not on my regular Visa card. I'm
sure you can guess the end of the story: it turned out that the
cashier had, indeed, opened a credit card account for me, meaning
that she explicitly LIED about it. I have checked with the person
who accompanied me to the store that day, and she also remembers my
asking explicitly if it was a credit card. After a bit of web
research, I think I understand why she lied -- it looks like
employees get rewarded for how many accounts they open. I am
extremely angry, because this is now a very complicated situation --
I am abroad for the year, and have my other account set up for
automatic bill pay, but the Old Navy bill went to my mom's house,
and she ignored it because she assumed it was junk ma! il because
she knows I wouldn't open another credit card. Now apparen tly
another bill arrived, with a late fee, which thankfully she did
open. I now have to try to deal with this from a developing country
(meaning making phone calls over skype, when the internet is
working) and I really hope that my credit (previously perfect) has
not been damaged by this. Lessons learned: 1. Never shop at Old Navy
because their employees LIE. 2. Never sign up for any sort of store
card without reading ALL the fine print, asking to speak to a
manager, and getting them to sign a statement guaranteeing that it
is not a credit card. 3. Even if you use automatic bill pay to pay
off your credit card statement, you should always check the
statement each month. Had I done this, I might have noticed that the
Old Navy charge was missing from my regular credit card account. |
