Complaint_against: Credit One Bank
Complaint: It's not the Visa credit card that I recieved from Credit
One Bank, it's Credit One Bank and it's Management and Customer
Service that's the problem. I was sent a Pre-approved offer in the
mail and sent it in. I recieved my Visa Card about four months ago
and each time my bill comes in I pay it in full the same day. The
last two times I paid it I used my debit card from my bank because
the credit is supposed to be on your card the next day to or 48
hours when you pay over the weekend. My nightmare with Credit One
Bank began on May 9th 2007 when I made a $497.49 payment over the
pho! ne with my debit card. When I called the 888 number on Monday
the 12th to see that the transaction was processed the automated
system did not credit my account. I dialed zero to talk to a
customer service rep and was told that it appears that the
transaction was insufficient funds. When I told her that is
impossible because at the time I called to make my paymebt I had
already verified with my bank that there was $1,150.00 in available
funds. At this point, believe it or not, the Rep actually told me
that they were having a problem with their automated system. It
seems that there automated system from Friday to Sunday tried to
withdraw twice from everyone who paid by debit card. Wow doesn't
that smell like First Union (Now Wachovia) a few years ago in
Florida When their employees got caught with their hands in the til.
Pardon the Pun because this is not a funny matter to me. I told her
then that is why my debit card refused to make a payment, but that
it was the second paym! ent it rejected because it will not accept
two identical amounts from the same company back to back. That is a
safe gaurd against companies trying to double bill customers. I also
told her that the message they would recieve in that instance would
say that this transaction cannot be completed at this time and not
insufficiant funds. She asked me to hold on, and I did. After 6
minutes she come back and tells me that they did not recieve the
payment yet. I said thank you, you should definetly recieve it
overnight tonight because it is schduled to be paid today. On
Tuesday the 13th of May my bank confirmed that Credit One Bank was
Paid Monday electronically $497.49. I then called the 888 number
again and the credit was not posted again. Once again I talk to a
customer servie rep who said it was still not recieved. At this
point I ask to speak to her supervisor. She promply told me no
payment was made because of insufficient funds. I repeated
yeaterdays story to her and her problem with the story was that a
customer service rep told a customer the! truth about the problem
they had and asked for her name. I politly told her it was yesterday
not the girl today, but that I would not say because it's beginning
to seem like she is the only who hasn't lied to me so far.She then
told me to go to my bank and have them fax a letter stating that a
payment was made on their letter head and sign it and provide a
telephone no. that they could reach her. I did and they did. I
called on Wednesday the 14th of May. Still no payment made on my
Visa. Now I'm asking to speak to a Bank Manager. I'm tired of them
not knowing where my money is and why it is taking so long. First
thing the Manager says is "Well I'm seeing an insufficient fumds
transaction." I proceed to repeat the story from Monday and Tuesday
to the Manager. Then I said you got a fax and a copy of my bank
statement showing you the payment was made to your bank on Monday.
After being on hold for 12 minutes he comes back and said there is
no fax. Since I live five minutes fr! om my bank I sent my roommate
to the back to send all the information again which they did while I
was on the phone with the manager. He told me they recieved the fax
but it would be another three to five days to verify with my bank.
At this point I asked him why am I and my bank doing your job. He
told me I wasn't the only one they had to verify. I wonder how big
this problem is? It is now early Saturday Morning the 17th of may
and my money is still missing. BE CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH CREDIT

Complaint: I have a card from Credit One Bank. They suck. My
November payment was due on November 26, 2008 (yes Thanksgiving Day)
even thought the credit card payment center does not credit payments
on holidays. My payment arrived on November 27, 2008. I day late,
therefore a $39 late payment was added to my balance. But the bad
part is that the $39 late fee was charged on December 01, 2008.
Another problem also was that I obtained a cash advance on November
28, 2008 and it was approved. The problem is that because of the
cash advance I went over my credit limit, so there goes another
charge and now my paym! ent is close to $100. What I don't
understand is why did the cash advance go through if the payment was
late. Credit One Bank really knows how to make money off the
customers. Now they are calling me several times a day because I did
not pay my December 27, 2008 payment. It is not even 10 days late
and they are allready harrassing me. They haven't even replied to
the letter that I sent them. I will be filing a complaint with the
FTC for shady business practices and harrassment. |

Complaint: I have Credit One Visa that I am so regretting. I will be
honest I had not been the best a paying in a timely manner. Due to a
six month financial hardship I paid what I could when I could. On
several occasions I had made a payment online. I found out later
when checking my bank account no payment was processed. I would
contact them and they would tell me I messed up and didn't make the
payment. I had confirmation numbers to prove it! The blame was still
placed on me and I was charges 34.00 late fee. Let’s not forget the
$9.95 fee they deduct from your payment for processing. They CHARGE
you to pay your bill!!! Oh this even gets better. I recently tried
to pay off my account. I tried to add 10.00 to the payoff amount to
cover the "processing" fee. It would only allow me to add 9.00. That
left me owing .95 and having to pay 9.95 to pay that!! I finally
called them and complained they took my payment and waived the
processing fee. I'm paid off right? NOPE!! After four days I checked
my bank account and card account. It shows me that I still owe 82.00
and they haven't processed the payment yet. In two more days I will
be charged 34.00 for a late fee. I called them to address the
account and the CSR (customer Service Rep) Chris (female) was RUDE!
I wanted to clarify the arrangement and payment that I made was
being processed for the amount that I had my voice recorded for.
This woman refused to answer my questions and got snotty with me. I
asked for her name and said I would call to speak to a manager since
she refused to help and was rude to me. I called back an hour later
and I asked to speak to a manager. I was told it would be a 1-2 hour
wait to speak to a manager. I asked, are there that many
complaints?" the CSR said there was. I asked him to help me and he
danced around the issue. I still don't know what the status of my
account. I will be contacting their corporate HQ as well as the FTC.
DON'T GET THIS CARD. 34% interest rate!!!! |
